As we all know, the two are pretty similar.
- Both are 17 year olds
- Want to change the world
- Very smart
- Both have sisters
- Both have Alter Ego's
The parallel that Light and Lelouch both use a power to change the world, and both are were very capable of doing that, is very well known by anyone who watched these shows. But it's the clear difference between both that make us love Lelouch for what he has done: Lelouch's intentions were absolutely selfless, first for his sister and then all he wanted is that everyone in the world would be able to gain happiness.Since the world was without future he decided to destroy everything to recreate a new world, a world with a future. As we have seen, Lelouch actually succeeded.
Don't get me wrong - Light did kill 70% of all criminals in the whole world - but do we know that he really changed the world into a better for a remarkable timespace? Evil will always exist. We don't know and I even doubt it. Light became "God" and manipulated people to attain his desired end, not the world's and died for himself.
Lelouch on the other hand took ALL the hate, war, violence of the whole world, put it on his shoulders and removed them all with himself - Which kinda makes him a Jesus figure.
In the end, both Code Geass and Death Note are my favorites, but i'd always prefer Lelouch.
Does anyone agree with me on this?
