As we all know, the two are pretty similar.
- Both are 17 year olds
- Want to change the world
- Very smart
- Both have sisters
- Both have Alter Ego's

The parallel that Light and Lelouch both use a power to change the world, and both are were very capable of doing that, is very well known by anyone who watched these shows. But it's the clear difference between both that make us love Lelouch for what he has done: Lelouch's intentions were absolutely selfless, first for his sister and then all he wanted is that everyone in the world would be able to gain happiness.Since the world was without future he decided to destroy everything to recreate a new world, a world with a future. As we have seen, Lelouch actually succeeded.

Don't get me wrong - Light did kill 70% of all criminals in the whole world - but do we know that he really changed the world into a better for a remarkable timespace? Evil will always exist. We don't know and I even doubt it. Light became "God" and manipulated people to attain his desired end, not the world's and died for himself.
Lelouch on the other hand took ALL the hate, war, violence of the whole world, put it on his shoulders and removed them all with himself - Which kinda makes him a Jesus figure.

In the end, both Code Geass and Death Note are my favorites, but i'd always prefer Lelouch.

Does anyone agree with me on this?

100% agreed. Light, like it or not, was evil. That was set in stone when he killed Naomi Misora. Lelouch only did what he did for Nunally's sake (a good intention), and the Zero Requiem was to basically bring world peace.

Lelouch solos light cause light doesn't know lelouch name plus lelouch geass is op. Ok on topic I like lelouch more as his character was more humane than kight. I kinda felt he was a psychopath or wanted to be god. Still like him but he wanted to be god like any king wants to be.

Both are amazing.
We don't get enough Anti-Heores as the main characters of the stories.

That being said, Lelouch is my favourite.

Problem with Light is that his story continued beyond its original plan. In turn sacrificing the very core of Light's character.
I even believe that the creators of Death Note had originally planned on ending it with L's death.
Bakuman ( written and illustrated by same two people) proves that to me. (if you haven't read it I recommend you do, if I explained what I meant it would be a major spoiler)

It was always meant to be a duel between Light and L, and for me personally, the story ended with the death of L.
Everything beyond that point was unnecessary.

Light had a God complex, it just shows that power can change anyone and that no one has the right to control life and death. In that regard, Light's development was excellent and the ending conclusion was appropriate to the story and Light's character.

Thanks for the recommend. :) I'll read it.

Light is a better character. I hate him, but that's good writing. lol I never really cared for Lelouch. And if I remember correctly, he also let the power go to his head.

P.S. - Lelouch is like Jesus? Stahp. Naow.

I said he was kinda a Jesus like figure since he sacrificed himself in the end. You know, a lot of books have a Jesus like figure in them.

Completely agree with the differences (Light's a complete psychopath and Lelouch is just a tragic hero all throughout). Also, I highly doubt that if you put them in each other's shoes, they could've done everything the other did. Keep in mind the different worlds they come from. With all the resources Lelouch had, I doubt Light would have slightest clue what to do with all of it. Meanwhile, Lelouch probably wouldn't last long WITHOUT all the stuff he had at his disposal, especially with an opponent like L (which Geass never had).

As for whose better, though, I completely disagree. As characters, Lelouch is pretty weak (literally), while Light's one of the best-crafted anime characters in recent history.

100% agreed. Light, like it or not, was evil. That was set in stone when he killed Naomi Misora. .

Light was only "bad" or "evil" when he was Kira & when he had the Death Note.
When he didn't have the Death Note , he was a nice bright kid. *_*
What happened to Naomi well.... that was sad.. :( It was heartbreaking indeed. U_U
but he only did it to protect himself AND the his plans for creating peace.

just like Madara killing people who get in his way to create peace.. like Obito. *_*
but that scene with Kira & Naomi was pretty twisted & disturbing. :(

I agree with you, he was a good person before he was corrupted by the DN. I meant that him killing Naomi was basically the turning point where you went like "okay this guy is evil" :p

lol It almost seems like I have a program on my computer that switches Light and Lelouch's names around.

In terms of planning Light > Lelouch. Both are sick characters, but some of the things in Code Geass were done just to juice up the plot, they weren't really well explained and tactical. But that's just how it is Death Note is more on the intellectual side while Geass is more on the emotional side.

Are you serious?

Light's sister is named "Sayu Yagami."

Lelouch succeeded in his future endeavors, and atoned for the deaths of Shirley and Euphemia by making himself the #1 enemy to the world, and then having himself killed by Zero/Suzaku.

Light....heh....lawls.

Both are very good anti-heroes but lelouch was much more manipulative and for him end always justifies the means.
just look at how many people lelouch killed and manipulated !!!!
