As we all know, it happened! There is no doubt about it. Why? Because the grandfather of all anomalies is fighting the 5 Kage right now. But if Uchiha Madara had been dead this whole time, who is the man behind the mask that had us all convinced otherwise. Not just from his own words, we heard it directly from The Uchiha Itachi. And not just that either, the so called natural disaster that occured upon Konoha could not have been brought on by anyone else, not just because he had complete control over the Ninetails. No one else could have penetrated the Leaf Village's defenses and the best Anbu shields COMPLETELY UNDETECTED and also weilding a logic crushing jutsu that allows him to pass through space and time itself at will. Acknowledged as such by the Fourth Hokage, the masked man could have been no one but Uchiha Madara and I am convinced of that. No, this thread is not about "Who?" it is about "How?".
If anyone could have made it happen, it would undoubtedly be Madara. So far in this manga we have had adequate clues as to "how" it could have come about, white zetsu's cloning abilities, the fake body parts, the fact that Madara awakened the Rinnegan sometime during his fight with Hashirama, the Izanagi during his fight with Konan, all these clues point towards a dirty but powerful trick played against nature. So what was it? What happened at the time of Uchiha Madara's death?.........................You decide.

guys it has been known for a while that tobi is madara, tobi said it himself and so did many other powerful people, dont turn this discussion into a waste like that, he might have a different face under that mask but he is Uchiha Madara.

uh..madara actually activated the rinnegan right before his death, on the hands of the first hokage.

tobi said that hes madara in order to plant fear in all of the ninja world, as of how only the 1st was able to stop him, and if tobi was madara then he should not have been scared of the real madara when kabuto showed the real madara to tobi. and he shouldn't be scared of the world knowing that the real madara is dead if he was somewhat a part of the real madara, i mean it will make no difference.

for all i know tobi might be a whole new character.

just wait for kishi to tell us and stop making such threads already..

i completely agree, i have a couple ludicrous theories how madara and tobi came to be.

1. tobi is a creation of the rinnegan that madara made during his battle with hasharima. He may have realised that he was going to loose to hasharima and tried to create an actual second madara (somewhat like a clone but actually another real madara) to take the fall so he could escape. This either failed or hasharima put a stop to it during the process. Either way thats how i think he has 2 souls and was able to be edo tensied. If he was stopped during the creation of this second self it would explain why tobi, aka madara 2 is unable to form seals and use any jutsu's besides whatever eye he transplants in.

2 or maybe he died inside his space/time jutsu? therefore allowing him to be edo tensied as his soul wouldn't be in the world.

3 he's not a creation but still somehow split his soul.

i think we will just have to wait and see though

when tobi confronted konan, he asked her why nagato went so far as to use Gedo Rinne Tensei no jutsu to revive all those he had killed as that technique WAS SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR HIS SAKE!!! which proves madara had intended nagato to revive his real body, also when edo madara awakened he said something about nagato managing to grow up, at that point edo madara thought he had been fully revived until kabuto told him about the edo tensei. and the reason madara was scared after looking at the coffin:
1. he was looking at his own powerful true self which was under kabutos control.
2. kabuto had complicated everything by tying madaras soul to edo tensei, which is why tobi madara says "this changes everything!!".
3. right after tobi makes that war for sasuke deal, what does kabuto tell him?
"i would expect no less from uchiha madara, your vessel is unique" need any more clues there smart guy?

seriously?? so like madara could pull that off and the sage of the six pathes could not? if that was even real than the sage would never die.

and madara Activated his rinnegan BEFORE HE DIED, as in seconds away, thats why he could not have a chance to test it and when he was edo tenseied kabuto made him master it right away.

so like...as far as i remember..tobi got the rinnegan faar before kabuto used the edo tensei again to revive madara again...so why didn't tobi revive him him self???.

and really? nagato was alive when the frekin madara VS. hashirama fight happened??? if so than his age must be like hashirama's right now which makes no sense. and the rinnegan's effect would not be applied unless you killed that certin person your self in order to revive them, because if nagato could revive ANYONE HE WANTED, than yahiko would be alive. so 2 things...madara planned none of this (splitting him self to tobi and tobi giving rinnegan to a random person so that they can revive the real him) or madara was really stupid doing that.

There is somthing i want to tell you. 1. Tobi aint freakin zetsu clone or someone madara made. 2. Madara didnt activated his rinnegan when he was fighting 1st. 3. And it should be something dangerous who killed him. Imo tobi is elder son of so6p. And it is just an opinion. As tobi is old enough. And there is something about tobi madara and zetsu that kishi wants to tell us or maybe show. So lets continue readin manga.

how else would edo madara even know the name nagato? you tell me. and tobi obviously wanted to collect all the bijuu inside the gedo mazo before he attempted to do anything of that sort. maybe you can revive anyone when the gedo mazo is complete and has all 9 beasts

maybe is not enough, if your theory is based on something that might or might not happen then there is no point arguing you anymore. and if nagato was really alive from the time the 1st was alive...just how does that make any sense :shrug:
