[Theory] The Clam summoning

■Although simply called 'giant clam', the kanji is actually the name for a mythical giant clam and usually pronounced as 'shin' in Japanese ('shèn' or 'chèn' in Chinese). This shin is actually a kind of aquatic, shape-shifting dragon in the form a giant clam. It is said to be able to cause mirages and Fata Morganas. In fact, its name has become almost synonymous with 'mirage': in Japanese, the word for 'mirage' is 蜃気楼 (shinkirō; Literally meaning "shin breath tower").
and as shown in one of the naruto anime the clam can use genjutsu. Naruto has already fought against 1 clam(cant remember wich episode ) and than he preformed his first giant rasengan.

During the massive anime fillers of Shippuuden after Naruto settled matters with Nagato, there was a two-parter with him training in breaking genjutsu. Anyway...they face a user that summons a clam that casts a very powerful genjutsu, sound familiar? I think the episodes that you're referring to are about 187-188. The title includes "Jiraiya ...", so they can't be missed. I wonder if they got that idea about the genjutsu clam from Kishi or the other way around...hmmmm.

sounds very intriguing! i hope your right. but sadly it looks like we want get to see the raikage and mizukage fight because kishi has skipped strait to the narut and Bee vs nagato and itachi. and no telling how long that fight will last.lol but i hope he does elaborate on there past before they get defeated again..

Yeah. I checked it out when the manga came out.

The guy uses Genjutsu.

Shinkirō (蜃気楼, mirage?) is a clam that has grown to an enormous size, at which point it rises to the surface of the sea and breathes out a mirage of distant cities.

I'm sorry, I'm not underestimating it, it's just such a stupid creature to be a summon, lol. Maybe if it looks cool..., but a clam is lame to me. But hey, look what Kishi did with a slug in Katsuyu. At least the Mizukage isn't a crab summoning user, lol.
