I agree, in a war scenario, having the byakugan would let you plan your battle formation and strategies a lot better. Especially if the war lasted like a year or something not like a week or so that the 4th war was. The sharingan or MS etc would be better for defending against a single threat of a high level opponent or something as it gives more versatility (mostly in the MS+ stages) not just advanced taijutsu and tracking that the byakugan has.

Also the sharingan is meant to be a rare occurance in the uchiha clan with Ms and EMS even rarer. The byakugan is more common which would give you more people to work with.

I was seeing sharingan used in combat in whole war arc and when byakugan was seen where was it? Sidelined until it's relevancy to plot died with neji.
