As some know not many are happy with the human torch being played by a black guy

There is a lot of outrage on it Complaints about how you can't make someone who is white in the comics another race and little support or words of calm down


yet when there was an announcement that marvel is going to change a superhero and have him or her love another who is of the same gender which is not in the comics those who express irritation are declared homophobes and there is tons of support for a non gay character who will become gay my guess probably Spider-Man since the prev spider guy at cully wants that to happen


I think it's bs you cannot change the race of super hero without backlash yet change the sexual preference and majority is a ok Hypocrites

My only problem is that he is suppose to be Susans brother yet he is black and she is white. That probably what other people are thinking. Making spiderman gay would be stupid. Confirmed gays are more accepted than black.

Lots of people who are not described as white (in their original scriptures) get casted by white actors in Hollywood. Even historical figures with non-white racial background get to casted by white people of West/North European heritage. And if a character is not described they get to assumed as white...

People discover their sexualities at different times. But Bobby get outed forcibly by someone invading his mind and while blatantly ridiculing bisexual people. Why are you making fun of bisexuals if you are trying to represent another group of LGBT+, that is not supportive to them. I do not care for his sexuality but the way it was implanted seemd off (i only read respective parts, not whole comics).

That is it... I do not get why they would get this much of backlash either way. Surprise surprise there is not a default race/sexuality and some people need more representation.

I don't like when they change the races or *** in a character that is already establish, so I understand the hate.

Unless they are characters who have been portrait by different races like Lantern or Spidy.

It's like watching yet another Naruto movie but this time Sasuke or Itachi are black and one of them are adopted.

I doubt fans of the Naruto manga would take that lightly.

I'd say a gay Spider-Man would be out of place though. That changes the characters in the story in a major way. They'd have to scrap Mary jane or whatever her name was, and replace her with a completely new character, then they'd have to alter plot events to make more sense. Then you might as well not have Spider-Man.

But being black? I can't think of a reason that'd be a problem, as long as the family of the character also aligns.
