See the Guy in the coffin has everybody braking their brains over who can it be? That has become the Biggest question in the Naruto world. And it will continue till we know the true. It's going to be hard for the Author to come up with a bigger mystery in the future. Because nothing short of finding out that Naruto's Mother still being alive will top it.

I don't think Madara was scared of the person in the coffin - I think he was just really surprised and kind of taken aback. Madara loved his brother, and to see him again in a semi-live state would certainly shock him.

It might also be Toka Senju. (For those who don't know, Toka Senju was a high-ranking Senju officer and a close associate of Shodaime. She was exceptionally skilled in Genjutsu.)

It's most likely Madara's "old" body. Think about it. He would be genuinely surprised to see that someone had learned his secret, and now he wants to keep Kabuto close so that he doesn't blab that information to the ninja alliance. It makes perfect sense.

There are many threads about this, but I believe it is the Sage of the Six Paths. Izuna isn't a bad guess either.

Though, there have been thoughts of mine indicating that Kabuto summoned Madara's actual body. In which case, I had three thoughts.

-Madara inhabited another body. We did see him take an arm out of the Zetsu like thing, so it is possible he can use other bodies, or create other bodies. Pain also did it, even if it was by chakra control. (This is my real decision, because I am not totally convinced that Madara is anybody but himsefl).

-Uchiha Kagami is actually pretending to be Madara. This makes sense, because they are around the same age. Uchiha Kagami would have wrinkles on his face like when he took off the mask to show Sasuke he was an actual Uchiha.

-Madara has a relative that is NOT Izuna, who is pretending to be Madara. Technically speaking, all Uchiha are related. But I meant that Madara could have a son or something. Somebody more directly descended from him.

Now we see someone claiming to be the real Mandra . So it natural for everybody to ask Who is in the coffin and why did it shake This Mandra , What is the secret Kabuto knows that This Mandra wants to keep to Himself. A question to ask what would trouble the real Mandra? Are not all His old enemies of His youth long dead and dust?

No, his soul is sealed by Dead demon seal. He sealed some of his chakra inside Naruto, but not his soul.

Kabuto and Tobi had a little conversation after Kabuto showed the last coffin to Tobi. Kabuto said that he can't summon anyone who is sealed and Tobi said right after ''So all previous Hokages can't be summoned''. Why he would say that if he saw 4th in the last coffin?

I know this is an old thread, but here is my theory. As many people said, it is Madura's body. How this came to be however, is through the power of Madara's sharingan. As seen with almost all other Mangekyō Sharingan, it has the power to warp reality in different ways. Madara was in fact killed by the first Hokage, but his sharingan was so strong, that it was able to warp death, where he is able to live on even after he is dead. This also explains how he is still "alive" after such a long period of time. This all works, unless he is brought back to life and controlled by Kabuto and the resurrection technique. Once he is under Kabuto's control, so is his sharingan, and the genjutsu that is the Madara know as Tobi could cease to exist. This is why he has no choice but to join Kabuto.

Since you are new, or maybe... made an account JUST to post this, I feel that it is necessary to tell you that topics that are above a month old aren't to be bumped. This topic is more than a year old. Minato has a theory has been made, and I've even seen a comic that said it was Naruto (some dudes signature, cracks me up). Just an FYI, please check the dates.
