But in all seriousness didn't Orochimaru make that statement? When Kabuto revived him he made it clear that he had no idea what Madara was capable of therefore Orochimaru wouldn't know either. Would make Oro's statement quite baseless.

Eh maybe, but in some terms you have to look at certain statements made by characters as a way for the author to hint something.

Now all in all, I'm actually quite against this for the most part. Some people on here think that if a character said something, it came from, "Kishimoto himself" which is a false way of thinking. Kishimoto models these people out to be characters quite different from himself and gives them their own opinions based on what he'd think they would say. In this particular statement made by Orochimaru, I think that is a *hint* that Sasuke will surpass Madara (even making Sasuke relate to Madara a little bit). It will not be soon in OUR time, maybe Naruto time, but definitely not ours.
