Guys, power isn't what determines the vice-captain. The first-mate also isn't always the first person to join a crew. A vice-captain is someone who needs to have the ability to demand and get authority over the crew and make reasonable and live-saving decisions during times of crisis or stress.

Sanji has been shown to be a more clear-headed thinker than Zoro. As shown with the case of Big Mom, he can take charge. Being one of the top 3 fighters, he has the rest of the crews' respect, which means they'd listen to him.

Sanji is just as good and just as likely to be a first-mate and Vice-Captain as Zoro. In fact, being a more level-headed thinker puts him above Zoro, cuz at the end of the day, Zoro's muscles and cutting everything won't be enough to get through every situation the crew gets in where the captain is absent.

Time to watch pirate movies and etc mate. First - Mate is the first person who joins the captain. Ben Beckman/Shanks, Rayleigh/Roger.

Sorry but if the captain is the most careless person on the crew.. the vice-captain really doesn't have to be the smartest. Sanji might have shown clear-headed thinking, however he lacks the presence of Zoro as a vice-captain. Who was the one who voiced out against Ussop joining back without an apology and saving the captain's dignity? Zoro is the most loyal person to luffy out of all the strawhats (not saying others aren't), but in portrayal he will die along the way to make luffy the Pirate King.


The girls are actually the smartest ones out of the crew, not Sanji. On top of that I can easily make an argument that Sanji gets too biased when it comes to females.. again lacking the authority of a first mate.

Plus rest of the pirates believe Zoro is the first mate. =D

On top of that even if Zoro leaves.. there is still a line for Sanji. Sanji might be the best fighter after Zoro, but for the vice-captain line.. there is ussop (third-mate) and Nami (the second-mate) to go before Sanji gets a chance.

Dude zoro is the first mate.....you are making him look like a brainless member of the SH.....going by your reasoning Nami or Robin may be the first mates because they are the most level headed. U R takong so much away from zoro....
U remember when ussop tried to leave...who talked sense into luffy and the rest?
When Kuma attacked luffy.......who stepped up on his game?
When luffy was being beaten up in Fishman whose words got him serious?



Dont UNDERESTIMATE killer as far as I know, he was among the first to inflict damage on the pacifista...that should tell you something...because even at MF some of whitebeards men had trouble fighting them!!!!!!!!!!

I really wanna see Killer in action and him vs Zori will b spectacular and ofcos Luffy vs Kid but some of them will b awesome to see in action lyk Apoo -Hawkins and Drake.
Zoro is difenetly the second in command/v.c/first mate, I mean with all the pple that mistake him for the captain in the series I think pple wld just see it as it is. Okay Sanji may b the thinker type but Zoro is lyk an enforcer to the crew and he doesnt need permission to do stuff he just does them and the captain believes he's strong(not saying he thinks Sanji's weak in Luffy's mind).
