Who are your favourite female characters in anime/manga?
(I LOVE female leads they're perfect arhghggh)
1. )Izumo Kamiki (Blue Exorcist)
Man, Izumo is one of the most interesting characters, not because she has some tragic childhood or awful burden, but because she's...a real teenage girl. The thing is, she's actually quite a mean person, most of NB would probably hate her if she were a character in Naruto but her character is so conceited and genuine that...it really makes you think about her. She doesn't trust anyone, speaks her mind and is a total tsundere but, there's interesting psychology behind it.
Example: Rin asks her to the festival to fill in his shift. Izumo for no reason lashes out and gets upset and tells him to "learn to look at the other side of people" and you initially think she's just being b*tchy but later you see her in her room alone, as like- the only person who didn't get an invitation to the festival. Nobody even thought to genuinely ask her. She's also mentally and physically strong and just, such a well-written character.
2.) Medusa Gorgon (Soul Eater)
Imagine Orochimaru except even cooler, attractive, stylish and a hundred times more evil and cunning. There you have Medusa, I don't...I don't think I even have to explain anymore actually.
3.) Tsunade (Naruto)
Oh hey, remember that time Kishimoto actually created a good female character? One who has gone through so much trauma and had the independance, leadership and depth to pull through? Tsunade is still one of the best Kishi has created to this day, even if it is a little weird how she is still alive. (I also really like Ino and Tenten but not enough for the top 5 tbh)
4.) Maka Albarn (Soul Eater):
Oh hey look, a female shonen protagonist who doesn't need to be a *** object or dependant on a male. If you've read/watched Soul Eater you know exactly what I mean when I say she is a total badass. A total, genuine, relatable badass. Her anger and personality make her shine even in an anime FILLED with eccentric and crazy colourful characters, the normal teenage girl still remains the best character.
5.) Naruko "Anaru" Anjō (Ano Hana)
Man dont even bring up Ano Hana, i'll start crying again. Out of all the characters in Ano Hana, Anaru's version of the story is by far the saddest and most touching for me. A character of jealousy and self-hatred for being jealous over a dead girl...and the end in the forest where they all scream their goodbyes, I only teared up (for the only time with anime) when she burst into tears. Oh yeah, and she's hot.
