Comparing Beatles against Black Eyed Peas? It's like comparing an antique, world wide known car made in the 1960s, and a ghetto lincoln together. L2 think, and learn some culture please. These kind a questions what really makes me want to do a facepalm. The Beatles were the most recognized band within history, still is. Black Eyed Peas can't even get near to Beatles.
You're right, It's a horrid example. The Beatles are among histories greats, in 10 years virtually no one will be talking about Black Eyed Peas.

You probably also like Rap.
I love the Beatles. And I like rap. It's all about the quality of the songs you listen to.

seriously I dont like beatles kind of music and im sure if you put the black eyed peas in that time period they would do very well, they were the best only because they really didnt have any competition.... well btw Jay z is as good as the beatles....
Are you serious? Like really serious?
In case you were unaware the Beatles rise to fame occurred in the 60's. Let's look to see what other groups were around.

-Bob Dylan
-Jimi Hendrix
-The Rolling Stones
-Elvis was still kickin
-The Who
-Led Zeppelin
-The Doors
-Cream
-Simon & Garfunkel
-James Brown
-The Beach Boys
-The Velvet Underground
-The Grateful Dead

That's just to name a few. All of these bands are better than everything around today. How can you say the Beatles had no competition? And to presume that the black eyed peas could even survive, much less thrive, in this time period is preposterous.

I think older music is better because it is. The Beatles helped pave the way for the greatest generation of music. The black eyed peas are going to be forgotten soon enough.
I'm only 20.
Why do you like "young" music?

thats your opinion its not a fact im sure your one of those people that say rock is better than rap dude its your preference...not mine. I like young music because it sounds good and im young. Beatles dont suck obviously they were good but really I dont like old music because I was actually born in this generation and not in the generation of black and white pictures...LOL you old tho.... the only reason why great artist are forgotten is because theyre music is outdated in thirty more years the music im listening to will be outdated and useless but everyone will still remember michael jackson not because of his music but because he was a legend and broke records and stuff like that his music will be for archaelogical reference much like the beatles only people like you will still be jamming to the beatles...they will just become like the pyramids or the rosetta stone great works but normal people dont really care about them.....

First off all, don't pretend to know my musical tastes.
Second, have you ever heard of a comma? Or a period for that matter. What you posted is just one big incoherent ramble that is a pain to try and decipher.
Third, outdated? The things they talk about are still relevant today in many ways. You want to know why? Cause it was good music. The shit that is on the radio is not which is why it will disappear.
Fourth, when you mention the pyramids and the Rosetta stone I can only presume you are trying to imply that the music of the greats will be forever remembered as an amazing period in time that will be studied in the future. You realize the importance of the things you name right? I know you were really trying to say how they will just become relics (I assume) but the truth is those things, the pyramids and the stone, are still highly discussed and studied today. They are major milestones for mankind.

And what the hell does "I was born in this generation" have to do with anything? I wasn't alive during the 60's. I grew up with the same shitty music on the radio. I just realized it was bad and stopped listening to it.

Also you say normal people. But what is normal? Normal for you is clearly not normal for me. So to say normal people don't really care is a pretty big assumption. Maybe your 12 year old friends don't care.
But you're young. Go to college. Listen to real music. Then, come back here and decipher your own posts and see how big a fool you once were.

dude let me wrap it in a nutshell for you the layman in a couple more years will not care about the beatles, there are musicians that talk about relevant stuff but because noone likes to search for good music theyre stuck listening to rubbish. The layman does not care for pyramids just as they wont care for the beatles..

The Beatles have remained influential almost 50 years after they began. How many years will it take till they disappear completely?
Let me answer that for you, they won't.

Like it or not Beethoven and Mozzart are the biggest names in music

bands like The Beatles or Led Zepp arent far behind

in movie talk:

BEP are lets say Horrible bosses (a fun movie to watch once, altough I hated it, and has NO real quality whatsoever)

the above are more like The Godfather or LoTR of music, the greatest achievements in the profession

+ why I hate modern music:
cuz all they have to do is look pretty and make noise and than a big commercial tv, radio, ... chart lists them as ''good'' and everyone follows them blindly and the real good music is forgotten
