Agreed but I feel like with the rhino it's kinda hard to come up with a rhino based suit without it being too cheesy. Some things in comics don't transfer to film real well. With green goblin we have yet to see a good pick of his face so I have some hope.
I feel like they are trying to make the villains a little more realistic and practical (to some existent knowing most of this stiff is impossible) and just leave some things to the imagination instead of logic. Seeing people nitpick at small this can be annoying (not total king about you but people in general).
He looks like Gollum from Lord of the Rings o_o

Seriously though they gave him a blonde bouffant. A f*cking bouffant. And yeah I agree they don't have to get every detail right, that's kinda what I admired about Spiderman 3- it's use of villains was pretty dreadful but they were uncomplicated and weren't too focused on being 100% reliant on the source material. Idk, Spiderman villains are hardly complex...my only real problems with the film seem to be the visual elements.

That said if there's another screw-up like the Lizard THEN there's a reason to moan...The Lizard was almost movie-ruining. Almost.

Ehh he dosent look amazing but it'll be ok I think I wanna see oh they handle doing mysterio, Kraven the hunter, scorpion, shocker, hobgoblin but I know the only ones they might attempt are either mysterio or Kraven.

so? also Spiderman isn't meant to be some OP marvel demigod, power doesn't even matter in Spiderman movies, you might be watching for the wrong reason otherwise.

What you seem to be describing as criticisms of the movie is just that you want the reboot to be the same as the original. This isn't Hollywood 2001 anymore. The superhero genre can be taken seriously and there are 5 films for the new Spidey universe to unravel, give them a chance. There's loads of things the originals didn't have either. Correct female lead, correct timeline, they didn't have Peter schoollife, they didn't have the police department subplot... they barely had Peter Parker...Both have pros and cons but my personal favourite is Amazing Spiderman. To be totally honest as much as I know it's a bad movie...I LOVE Spiderman 3. Always have as a kid and still now so I understand where you might be coming from. I think all 3 films are bad films but at least Spiderman 3 has fun with it.

Don't disrespect my Garfield like that please ^-^
Just because he is good looking does NOT make him not Peter Parker. In fact the 'nerd' Hollywood stereotype is so outdated and as this is a modern Spiderman film Peter is more like a common geeky student of today. We live in a time where 'Geekiness' is generally accepted, he IS the same awkward and nerdy Peter- just not as visually as previous versions. He still stutters, has awkward posture and body language, is a boy genius, fun-mannered and carefree when swinging through New York and has problems fitting in at school.

Sounds like Peter Parker to me, the criticisms of Garfield are always so shallow, like nobody has actually thought them through in any detail. See more than just face value and you'll realise Garfield was probably the second best thing about the (needed) reboot. Also is THIS seriously any better?

I respect your decision...

but still Uncle Ben Killed himself, Aunt May looks too young, Peter should wear glasses...

plus considering that Gwen is gonna die and he promised to stay away from her, the first movie makes Peter into an unintentional douche...

and your right, Lizard SUCKS..

I think the second is gonna be way better though...

You do know that's exactly how it happened in the Amazing Spiderman comics right? Except the younger aunt may, but that's exactly how it played out before he met mary jane.

This series is actually pretty close to the original Amazing Spiderman comic, and in my opinion way better than the past three movies.

I like the old movies...

they atleast did the origin story better...

though I do like that Richard Parker is in the new version...
Remembers Spiderman 1 and disagrees. Wasn't it Gwen Stacy the Goblin held over the bridge and killed in the comics? Sony screwed that up by using it for Mary Jane. This new version was a little closer imo to staying to the comics. Still cringing at Peter tap dancing at the end of 3.

Yes exactly!!

Also I agree that Sony totally screwed that series up, the third one was all over the place. It was really disappointing.

well I did not read that issue, but considering that the logical thing to do is point a gun AWAY from you that doesn't make sense...

so in the comics Ben died over some coins? please tell me that's not true!...

it maybe closer to the comics, but they still messed up...

Peter met Gwen in college...

Well sort of, Peter didn't actually witness the death of his uncle. After the wrestling match he didn't find out his uncle died till he got home and the police came to his house. But he did die over trying not to get robbed by a mugger. In one series his unlce had a heart attack and fell out of a window, it was really lame so this didn't bother me as much.

Peter did meet gwen in college you're right, the overall story seems closer to the canon except for a few things here and there.

The other spiderman series wasn't close.

Not a douche...young. Spiderman out of maybe every Marvel character probably makes the most mistakes. He's young, easy-going and inexperienced. You should see Peter at the end of his run, he regrets almost everything he's done.

A character has to make mistakes in order to develop- a mistake he WILL pay the price for. This wasn't Peter trying to directly disrespect Gwen's father's dying wishes but taking that on board and thinking he could personally beat destiny and keep her safe. He'll soon learn.
