The eyes seems to relate alot to the term "6 paths". Since Sasukes Mangekyo had 6 peaks. And the Rinnegan had 6 paths of Pain. However Konan said that Nagato was the 7th pain.
So what is the 7th path? And what are the first 6 paths?
I think that the 6 paths are all things that comes from/describes the 10tails.
This would make the name Sage of the 6 paths into a combination of beast and man. Sage for the man and 6 for the 10tails.
So what really are the 6 paths.
Well. They are these:
Eyepath: Obvious just pick one.
Bodypath: The one Naruto awakend and Nagato seems to have taken "becoming complete".
Yin path:
Yang path: These two were once one and the same but was split into the Senju and Uchiha as explained by Madara to Konan.
Extra much chakra path: Needs a better name, as does the rest, there is not much to say about it. The Uchiha have it and it makes them capable of using their sharingans alot while non uchiha users like Kakashi and Danzo tiers easily from using them.
Extra much life path: The bijuus are immortal. And the Uzumaki have inherited this path making their lifes longer and giving their village the title "village of longevity".
So By collecting and combining these paths one would become truly powerful and this is what Madaras goal is besides controlling the world.
Nagato on the other hand already became complete as seen in the latest chapter. He has the immortality path, the eye path, he sucked Bs chakra gicing him back his extra much chakra path and got the body path etc.
So what is the 7th path?
Well the 7th path is the human path.
Not the one in the Rinnegans bhuddism i mean actual human beings.
I bet that the Sage of the 6 paths could not use the Rasengan. This is what i mean. All these powers that Madara wants comes from the evil 10tails but humans can do things beyond that. This is what the 7th path represent and thats why an extra tomoe surrounded a throne and Nagato the only human to consist into the paths of pain was called the 7th path.
