I found nothing wrong with the first trilogy. People are either incredibly nerdy about about their anime/comics or people on the Internet just hate on anything/everything.

But if it makes you people feel better, this next movie is being directed by someone new (obvious with the new plot and new cast) as Bay is done with transformers and is currently working on Ninja Turtles.
