It's not morally squalid insofar as the person is not actually being derogatory (if you're saying it about something in jest, then I don't see the problem).
People just need to lighten up and stop being so sensitive.

The Boondocks!!!! Watch the last episode that aired last Monday night. It was all about Riley saying "That's gay" and that "gay is gay"....and also about saying something was retarded. Now I would nvr call someone with special needs a retard. My mom worked with special needs kids for 20 yrs.....31 if you count me 
and if you call someone with cerebral palsy a retard than you really have no idea. Sometimes their mind is completely normal, they just can't control their bodies very well and have a tough time forming sentences. Their brain is ahead of their speech functions if you will. Now your friend that gets drunk and hangs out your car window at 2am and screams, "HEY! F*@$ YOU COPS! YOU WANNA FIGHT?!?!"---that's a retard!
but yes, watch that Boondocks episode and all the others... It's an amazing show everyone should watch....and it's sort of anime for those who say they dont like western cartoons. I think it's produced in France? I may be wrong...

I feel the same as you actually. These words are not exclusive to the homosexual community, these words gained these interpretations after previous interpretations were established before. It shouldn't be a big deal to use the either word in a negative sense cause it's not meant as an insult to those people when it is used in the context that it is.

LOL? This is why society is pathetic. It is a word. We have given these people more rights, and are even able to marry in some states, yet controversy insues. While they were already lesser human beings, their consistent outblurs just downright prove their inferiority as humans. And if you support it or even try to reason, you're worse than they are. Well that would depend on the situation. If you're saying "That's black" as in to say something is stupid, that just doesn't make sense.
The meaning of gay isn't exclusive to homosexuals, so by associating all negative connotations of the word to homosexuals, you're being an idiot.
Because people previously established a new way or meaning of the word, that has trickled down to today's society. When something bad or undesirable happens, people say "oh that's gay". It annoys me, since its now used as a slur as well. Honestly, I really think this word is used too much by people who have no knowledge of what the word means, and are just throwing it around to look cool.

But gay does not exclusively mean homosexual. Not all uses of the word gay is an attack to your sexuality.
If it can mean happy and vibrant, why can't it be used as slang for stupid? The world clearly has up to 3 meanings, the fourth meaning isn't related to the other two.

It is actually meant the one that describes the homosexuals there.
For example, here in Finland it's quite common for people to call each other "****ing homosexual!" as an insult to a man.
