I'm still going with Madara. I think he's literally a shell of his former self, a body without a soul, kind of a reverse edo tensei. I think in his battle against Hashirama he may have physically died and his soul crossed over, but somehow (maybe black zetsu) his body was able to survive. Tobi was angry when he found out Nagato used his ressurection technique on Konoha and claimed that it was supposed to be saved for him. I think this is because he wanted Nagato to bring back his soul. Its the same reason why he was cornered by Kabuto. Since Kabuto could summon "Madara" it meant he had control over his soul.

Throughout the series Itachi has been shown as an almost omnipotent figure who always knew the truth. So I don't think he was wrong in saying the man behind the mask was Madara Uchiha.

Thanks, yeah I agree. Besides the only two people that FTG would work for are Minato and Naruto. (not counting the 3 guards minato taught it to because it requires 3 people).

Yep I am convinced it is still Madara. Both Edo Madara and Tobi have an "infinite tsukuyomi" as their plan for peace.
