Your and my minds think alike! I've posted about this before as well!

1. In one of the colored manga covers, you can see Madara and Sasuke, along with the 9-Tails ... the 9-Tail's eyes looked like the Sharringan, much how Pein's summons have his Rinnengan. One way the 4th could have known it was Madara, was because of the sharringan eyes on the 9-Tails... At that point in time, there weren't many Uchiha that we know of that would want to attack Konoha...

2. Minato wouldn't have had much time to let the villagers know about the Sharringan eyes... the 4th most likely did NOT know it was Madara, but someone with the sharringan...

3. Minato used the space-time jutsu just like you said, but I don't think the "key-scroll" had anything to do with the "yellow-flash" technique. Or to summon kunei... if you look at Kakashi Gaiden, Minato did use a scroll to summon kunei, but the scroll shape was nothing like Naruto's scroll.

4. Jiraiya said that the "key scroll" would be used to either Open up or Close Naruto's stomach spiral seal. He said that over time the seal would slowly open (much like the spring of a clock, and you need to wind it to keep it functioning). Jiraiya tried to "unwind" Naruto's seal forceably, and it resulted in his huge chest scar...

5. Minato choosing his son was in fact Fate, not coincidence or design. A newborn child, doesn't happen quite often in Konoha... and for an attack to happen at that moment, and for the child born, to be his son... has to be Fate.

6. The sealing jutsu we saw the 3rd perform, he grabbed Oro's arms, and the Death god reached through his body.... how could Minato use the deathgod jutsu and hold his son? I think Naruto's mother had to have been present, or play a role in the sealing...

7. "That jutsu" could be the flashstep, or it could be something more!

This is what I think it is... A summon usually is an animal correct? Reverse summon uses a human? SOOO...
1. Imagine Naruto making 10 clones.
2. Original is in Sage-Mode hiding, the other 9 are using "blue-eye (slanted) kyuubi power"... those shadow clones can go off and fight...
3. The weakness to shadow clones is that the real body is vulnerable...
4. To avoid this... Naruto could "summon" his human body, into one of the shadow clones...
5. Maybe "that jutsu" was unable to be completed by the 4th, because of the lack of chakra, but with Naruto, this isn't an issue...

i like your theory at the end..........but not with #5 he definitly sealed it into naruto for a reason.........otherwise he woulda sealed the whole thing with reaper death seal thingy

I find it odd that Jiraiya said that the Flying thunder god technique is a non-kekkei genkai which the Sharingan and Byakugan cannot follow. Funny how he doesn't say Rinnegan, when Jiraiya knew of the Rinnegan.

It's also odd, that when the Kyuubi attacked Konoha, Jiraiya said there was only one person who could control the Kyuubi. At the time, the Uchiha Clan was still alive, so can we infer from this statement that it requires more than just mere Sharingan to control the Kyuubi?

OK im pretty sure the jutsu that jiraiya is talking about which is left from minato to naruto is flying thunder god. This is because Minato always wrapped a seal which had to be done in order o activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" (術式 jutsu-shiki) to mark the destination. (Altough this is an even stronger version of minatos most likely.) Which is shown in the picture below.

Im pretty sure that rasengan isnt the technique he wants naruto to complete because minato had completed that already by himself. Its unlikely to be rasenshuriken or else they would have just said rasenshuriken instead of "that jutsu".

Now here is the interesting part, first read the whole explanation of the jutsu as it reveals hints to "that jutsu":
This jutsu was created by Namikaze Minato, and quite possibly the reason behind his nickname, "The Yellow Flash of Konoha" (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光 Konoha no Kīroi Senkō). It allows the user to move over himself and/or a target he touches to another location in the blink of an eye. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed of this jutsu is much greater. In principle, this jutsu is similar to the Summoning Technique, as it revolves around manipulation of time and space rather than accelerated movement, but instead of bringing something to users, it sends them somewhere. Additionally, it makes no noise and produces no puff of smoke, allowing the user to appear behind someone unnoticed.

To activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" (術式 jutsu-shiki) to mark the destination. After this is done, the user enters a dimensional void that almost instantaneously transport himself to that location whenever he chooses from then on. Minato applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. By giving one such kunai to a person, he can immediatly teleport to that person at any time. He can also apply the mark to a touched area, such as his opponent or some other surrounding feature.

Furthermore, it may also touch the ground and Minato knows immediately where all enemies are and can mark his goal. This technique also possesses surveillance purposes as he can continuously sense where anyone is as long as the seal is on them. No matter where an opponent is, he arrived directly to him. The jutsu is also especially special because it requires no use of chakra, do to a special secondary seal that emits the same chakra as him, allowing him to have an instant connection to the area.

This is one of the few known non-Kekkei-Genkai techniques created that the Sharingan/Byakugan cannot follow. It is because of this technique that Konoha came out victorious in the Iwa-Konoha Ninja War. After having his subordinates toss marked kunai randomly into the enemy ranks, Minato used the technique to appear within their ranks, using the great speed of this jutsu to seemingly appear to be in several places at once and wipe out entire squadrons one by one in moments before they could even react. The Japanese name Hiraishin is also the phonic of the Japanese word 避雷針, which means lightning rod.


Now the bold parts give a hint which start making me think why minato sealed the nine tails in naruto, minato only sealed the ninetails yin chakra using shiki fujin right what other type of seal uses shiki? u guessed it flying thunder god uses shiki which is the seal wrapped around the kunai. Is this concidence? maybe not maybe he did it on purpose since he knew he was gona die and did not have time to teach naruto the techinique he gave naruto in way a hint to use the jutsu and learn the jutsu byhimself.

This is perfect for naruto and makes it compatable for him because we c that any huge chakra consiming related jutsu naruto has a hard time using since kyuubi intereferes. therefore since no chakra is needed he can easily be able to use this, also the fact that his chakra is divided into ying and yang saves him because he can use his own chakra to make his own seal and wrap it around the kunai.

Now i have showed u evidence that its suitable and seems correct for it to be "that jutsu" i will show u something very very strange! THAT ALSO PROVES MINATO WAS PREPARING NARUTO TO FIGHT MADARA SINCE THE DAY HE WAS BORN!!!!!!

So while there talking about that jutsu and giving naruto the key jiraiya says this!

Minato somehow knew madara released the ninetails on konoha and also he himself would come later and attack konoha by himself. That is why it says in these panels "minato knew of something, something of grave importance" which would explain that minato knew madara did this. also in the panel it says "and if because of that something he chose to entrust nine tails in his own son" naruto alone does not have enough power to defeat madara even with rasengan taught to him most likely knew minato. So minato wanted to put 9 tails in naruto because he knew he was the only one who could withstand the kyuubi's power which naruto has proven countless times he knew he were to give it to someone else it would end up like sora most likely. He also wanted to give jiraiya the key because he knew that jiraiya was the only one that could make naruto stronger by helping him learn rasengan which naruto evolved into a deadlyer jutsu which was rasenshuriken which can probably own chidori. Also minatos flying thunder god techinique has one thing that had an advantage over sharingan which for sure minato knew that madara had and it is this advantage mentioned on the description of the jutsu "This is one of the few known non-Kekkei-Genkai techniques created that the Sharingan/Byakugan cannot follow."

and the also isnt it wierd how jiraiya out of nowhere brings up madara and says that he thinks it was madara who released kyuubi altough interesting enough he says this right before the panel where it shows minato and him saying "minato knew of something, something of grave importance"
is kishi trying to tell us something? something like minato knew madara released kyuubi and naruto was destined to fight madara and save konoha!?

So this sums up everything....minato knew madara released kyuubi and he knew making jiraiya hold the kyuubis key and making him teach naruto would only make naruto godly strong because naruto learns rasengan and then rasenshuriken and now hermit mode and now...the key is on its way and inside it holds not only a key to unlocking kyuubi but also....kunai with a shiki sign rapped around it...which also be the kunai...that naruto can channel his powers into and teleport with intense speed making him a match for madara?

hmm interesting but in some way i believe in that frog that uchiha madara couldnt summon kyuubi ... but about that jutsu we all know that naruto must learn that to beat someone with same speed ...but space time jutsu and flying thunder god are totaly diffrent kinds of jutsu...and plus madara/tobi improved his jutsu leaving chakra in one position until his on another side which gives him advantage of so called that jutsu, but we dont know if is posible for naruto learn that cuz only minato knows about it and give to jiraiya key , jiraiya is dead, frog is dead ,now who will learn naruto about that, kakashi? i dont think so even if he survives he never will be able to learn naruto that jutsu maybe to explain him to how it looks like and it will be all on naruto to learn alone that jutsu or form some new one ... we will see...

I thought of something you could add or build on...

I made a theory thread saying that Itachi's gift to Naruto wasn't Itachi, but the Keyscroll Frog... but if it really was Itachi....

1. Other than the ability to control the Kyuubi, the MS has another secret - according to Itachi. This could be the "body flicker" techinique Madara uses. If Sasuke obtains this power, he would be very powerful again.

2. Naruto would need some sort of ability to counter Sasuke's speed. And the "space time jutsu" of Minato's would be perfect.

3. Problem is... is that 2 people traveling through space and time will have a hard time "connecting" to fight. Minato probably had this problem fighting Madara.

4. But Naruto and Sasuke DO have the ability to "connect". And that is through the 9-Tails. If Sasuke and Naruto battle... Sasuke will absolutely Surpress the Kyuubi, which means that Sasuke will have to maintain a Chakra connection to Naruto.

5. So either Itachi's gift is a way for Naruto to be able to lock Sasuke inside his mind, or have a way of tracking Sasuke despite a body flicker technique, because of that connection.

6. Sasuke and Naruto are ying and yang themselves, and whatever ability Sasuke gets. Naruto MUST have a way of countering it...
