Text Symbols are not showing up

ok, well, yall know that like rei and v recently have those new characters, well, i really cant see them. they come up as like these boxes that really dont mean anything.
is there anyways i can fix this?
btw, im using XP on a pc.

I think it depends if you have the characters installed on your computers

Go to: Start of your windows and type "Character map" on Search.
From there select "Wingdings" as font.
That will probably do it, I had the same problem on my previous laptop^^

i have it selected, but the characters still are not showing up.
its the first Wingdings, right?
btw, it dosnt have a "save" button or anything...it just shows up as weldings everytime i bring the Character Map back up.

btw, from what it looks like, all it is is an index of them, not changing anything really.
my browser is Mozilla Firefox, is there maybe a add on for it?

yeah, im not going back to internet explorer, besides, it does that on it also.

It says that with this, unicode characters can now display correctly, but I haven't tried it.

Update your Flash reader.
Problem is the same for me in school with xp.
It's probably cause of xp, or old working system.
It works on Vista fine though.
If it works with someone on xp. I am wrong, and sorry I wasn't much help.

if you want to change the font of your pc, do the following: Right click on ur desktok -> Properties -> appearance -> Select new font and hit okay.

If the problem consists, then u might have ur pc on a language that doesn't support the typing, just like how a pc that's set to EN "English" doesn't support Japnanese symbols.

try this if you are using windows xp:Go control panel/regional and language option / click on languages and than chose install files for east asian languages .

However it will require the windows xp disk.

ive already tried that, it didnt work. >.<

anyways, ive given up on it. rofl.
can a mod close this so it wont get revived once more?
