CCTV footage has captured the terrifying moment a man snatched a two-year-old from a shopping trolley and held a knife to the little girl's throat at a US department store.

Police released the video yesterday while revealing details about the horrifying incident which happened at a Oklahoma Walmart store and ended in the man being shot dead by police.
The footage shows Sammie Lamont Wallace pushing a trolley and circling the store on June 17 until he spots Alicia Keating and her two daughters, aged 12 and two.
When the mother’s back is turned, Wallace grabs the toddler from the trolley as her older sister watches on.Wallace then approaches Ms Keating, hands her a mobile phone and tells her to call police.
The mother screams and pleads for Wallace to give her daughter back, after which he pulls out a knife and threatens the little girl.Store employees then approached the man and police were called.
Officers arrived within minutes from a police station located nearby and evacuated everyone from the store, including Ms Keating. Police Chief Brandon Clabes told a media conference yesterday that officers tried to negotiate with Wallace for more than an hour.
Eventually they offered him a chair to sit on and the little girl, who had been calm throughout the ordeal, began to squirm.Chief Clabes said Wallace squeezed the girl to calm her down before moving the knife up to her neck, mentioned a satanic cult and launching into a 60-second countdown.
Fearing Wallace was about to hurt the girl or already had, Captain Huffs approached him and shot him in the head, killing him instantly, the Chief said.
Chief Clabes said Wallace, who had a history of mental illness and had been jailed from 2000 to 2011, had been trying to use the mother to contact a police officer in Texas who he had been harassing.
The Oklahoma County district attorney said the shooting was justified and Captain Huff was a hero.
The little girl was not injured in the incident.
