Okay, so one advantage of using this move would be that I could reach your position on the ground regardless of you hiding behind trees or not. And if you were to escape the initial blast, the flaming tree shrapnel would definitely do you some serious harm.

One disadvantage would be that causing such a devastating explosion would most definitely create dust, smoke, fire and debris that I would have to both avoid and consider while planning for the remainder of the battle.

This move, combined with perfect calculation of where the opponent exactly is proves to be a deadly jutsu. As I might have mentioned, moves that hit from the top and the bottom aren't usually noticeable until they hit.
And you covered the debris part too. Nicely said. That can be used for your advantage or disadvantage. Such details like this are normally avoided in battle, so stating it would help you greatly.

*Concentrating on my earlier training I gather chakra into my palm, compressing and rotating it in all directions, forming a perfect sphere. Once I have created a Rasengan, I funnel fire chakra into it creating a blazing ball of rotating fire.*

-At first attempt it, like the Fuuton: Rasengan, is difficult to control and maintain the balance needed to complete the jutsu. However with proper concentration and focus I am able to complete it successfully.-

At the same time, as the tree is being cut in tween, the fire chakra causes the splinters as well as both halves of the tree ignite into a furious blaze ending in an awe inspiring explosion.*

:rag: I would assume the smell of burning flesh isn't normal then?
Seeing that I have burnt my arm pretty good, I would assume the use of shadow clones would eliminate the pain and danger involved in this jutsu.

Being at short range you put yourself at a high risk for taijutsu or other counter attacks. For instance I figure if someone were to expel a large amount of wind chakra, that would be very dangerous for you.
Right?
