Do you feel from a natural standpoint we're regressing??

We're having to rely less on ourselves and more on the digital.

it might be true that everything will be done by robot in the future.

the average child cant survive on their own now but back in the past they could

This adaptation will most likely cause yet another plausible evolution

There's no telling what hidden thing's humans are capable of since we now debunk all theories, rewrite history to cause confusion and rely on technology instead of ourselves.

I guarantee our ancestor's were stronger, faster, and had better senses than us. I guarantee it

Humans aren't wild animals. Modernization, science and technology have sharpened what man is best at, innovation.

Would you like to return to the bush?

Yeah I was reading somewhere that millennials would rather go hungry than go without technology.

Technology and modernization have accelerated natural instinct

We know more, we analyze better, maybe it'd be a rough adaptation if suddenly the world as you lived it had to be lived entirely differently, but we'd pull it off. Whereas a dude from 10,000 BC probably would have 0% chance of adapting in our world.

Technology has made us much better than we ever were, our ancestors wished they had it like we have, we have washing machines to do the hard our ancestors did, we have radio and mp3 devices whereas our ancestors had to go into town to be entertained.etc, and our senses have improved, we're no longer ignorant as some of our ancestors may have, the dark side of technology is we have it so easy, we lost our drive to do anything ambitious and many people don't seek knowledge because there is always Google and even then, many people can present misinfo as fact, in that sense, our ancestors surpasses us.

When we talk about our ancestors, how far back are we taking about? cos I'm pretty sure innovation was our edge over animals from the very beginning.

I guarantee our ancestor's were stronger, faster, and had better senses than us. I guarantee it
Even then, they relied on instruments (however crude) to survive; fire, sharpening sticks, stone tools..... We're just built on what they started

I swear the general population gets worse with every new technology. Like people can't get off their smart phones for even a full minute. But that's counteracted by the fact that the smarter group of people will have access to things like the internet and will out compete the basic people faster. It's a blessing and a curse. This only applies in developed countries of course.

What about it?

The fact there are/were many different religions that run on information from deities which might contradict each other show that misinformation was probably worse then, people either didn't try to verify information (like we do today) or they just didn't have the means (which we do, for the most part)

Not to mention all the myths that were held as true, till they were proved wrong

We'd have a very rough transition going back to only natural things. But society can pull through like Claymantan said.

That being said, the generations are becoming weaker, and not just physically. We're 'spoiled' now. But being spoiled is a sign that we're enjoying life to an extent.

Personally, I think consumerism and technology might just be the end of us, but it's also got us very far.

That is a possibility, I believe our ancestors were ignorant of these things till later on, though, I question if people looked at these as gods rather than as manifestation of nature, for example, many call Gaia a goddess but in the legends, she is the embodiment of planet earth, not a goddess, but a force of nature, as newer religions came, I believe people stopped honoring these "gods" clearly there are no gods on Mount Olympus, there is no proof that a dude named Krishna who fought in a war between gods, humans and demons, there is no proof of a demon king of Lanka or a Monkey saving a woman from the demon or any of those things.

Humanity needs to evolve, can't be stuck in one place forever.

It seems that you miss the forest for the trees :p

Humanity is evolving, it's an unstoppable process. It's just that a lot of humans look at "evolution" how it worked in the past, but humans are already further than that. Natural selection isn't that much of a deal anymore, 'cause even the sick and "weak" people are reproducing nowadays, not only those with the "best" DNA.

Human bodies are regressing, because they are not as important as they were in the past. Like.. look at other animals. The newborns of a lot animals already can walk/swim from the first day they are on this planet. Humans don't need that because we have child-care in many forms, there is no reason that human bodies are strong, there is no struggle for surviving.

And with technological advance, the bodies become even less important, while the intellectual capacity becomes more and more important. Meaning, in the future, people will become more and more intelligent in the scientific way. Bigger brains probably will be one of the changes that will succeed in the future.

Then, the next big goal of humans will be the journey into space. This will probably lead to next big steps in the physical evolution when humans must adapt to the life in space/ on other planets to survive. Maybe this will be the time when physical superiority (in form of DNA for example) will be important again :p

So one day I will have my Charles Strossian singularity. Cybernetic augmentation. Transhumanism.

Ahhhhhhhhhh life is good

Or will be

I doubt that we will live long enough to witness these things, but the next generations will definitely deal with the cool cyborg-stuff :p
I mean, even today it's breathtaking to see what science already can do and how much/fast technology can change over 30-50 years. If humans weren't wasting soo fuqing much time killing and torturing each other for no reason and weren't destroying this beautiful planet without hesitation, we could have such an interesting and awesome future.

I remember reading like ten years ago that they had invented a way (in theory, I forget but it was one of those articles in the same way that people were talking about having the first fully electric automobile before it actually happened) to enhance the memory of the human brain by networking it with hardware.

And the precision of cutting-edge prosthetics technology today is pretty wild.

I wouldn't say it's that far off.
