The Akatsuki were hard core, S ranked missing nins, the baddest of the bad, so to speak. In all their fights, they never really lost per se. Let's look at the members:
1. Sasori: The puppet master literally let himself get stabbed after recalling his past. If he had really wanted, both his opponent's would've been dead. Full stop.
2. Deidara: Sasuke never killed him. Sure he was cornered, but dei's ultimate art was a suicide bombing that changed the terrain and would've killed sasuke if he had been even a split second late with the reverse summoning. It was'nt sasuke's victory as it much as it was deidara's artwork.
3. Itachi: Tobi said if itachi wanted, sasuke would've been dead. It was all pre planned, and itachi wanted to die at his brother's hand. He was never beaten by him/killed.
4. Kisame: He was cornered, but he chose death over dishonor or betraying the Akatsuki. He made his own sharks eat himself, he was'nt killed by his opponents.
5. Pain/Nagato: Naruto only managed to beat dead corpses. If after that he had fought Nagato, odds are he would've been killed/captured. Nagato, like so many other akatsuki, chose his own death by opting to follow a different path. Again he was'nt beaten.
6. Kakuzu: One on one he would've beaten even kakashi(who was tired and dead on his feet in their fight). It was only when naruto, yamato, chouji and ino plus kakashi all took him on at once that he failed. Can't really call that a fight.
7. Orochimaru: Hiruzen's rds failed to kill him. And itachi's totsuka did'nt really seal him away, either as it turns out his consciousness inhabited itself in anko's curse seal as well.
