i admit there is truth in what you say, and i agree that he would kick some royal buttocks
Captain Shikamaru: For his intellectual capacities and ability to quickly analyze complex and pressing situations.
Naruto: For his incredible chakra resources and determination to never give up. And senjustu, varieties of rasengan, and TBM.
Itachi: For his sharingan and genjustu abilities that have (so far as we've seen) always been superior to Sasuke's.
Hidan: He can't die. And you need to completely and absolutely dodge all of his attacks, or you're screwed.
A rather odd combination, but ...

Hinata - Gentle Fist and Shadow Possession combo would be a superb use of both abilities, quickly immobilizing opponents
Naruto - Perseverance to no end.
Sakura - Underrated character. Amazing with Genjutsu, Intense strength + near perfect chakra control the can be focused into her strength and medical ninjutsu get her well on her way to surpassing Tsunade who is also gravely underrated.
Sakura --if portrayed properly would have been one of the best Kunoichi in the manga.

Itachi, Minato, Gaara, Kakashi. A red-head, brunette, blondie and a matured one. I don't know if this theme will be powerfull than others, but it will be the hottest

the basic strategy would be itachi would trap the opponent in a genjutsu, buying time for naruto to get into sage mode, or to hold them still so they cant avoid rasengan/rasenshuriken
hinata and shukaku are mostly support; hinata would be a sensor and medic. shukaku is valuable for his intelligence and ability to strategize. however, most of the direct attacking would be done by itachi and naruto.
