I do the handsign and attempt to make you see me vanish in a whirlwind of sakura petals (do actual sakura petals swirl, and the illusion is that I vanish, or are the petals part of the illusion as well?)

i can still see you, you have to extend your chakra over to the person you are using the genjutsu against, overwhelm there senses. (the pedals are a part of the genjutsu i think)
