its a bit strange. his dad left for some reason, (the first cora?), dd liked slaves, went back to mariejois but was denied after killing his dad, and now wants revenge. ok.
he has servants who are loyal to him like family. if he hated commoners why care for them?
still a great villian tho.

Talk about rich people problems, not white people.

This chapter has proven that DD is just another CD, but unlike the others, DD can fight.

Hopefully the other flashbacks are gonna be better because DD's past has been hyped and delayed too damn much for it to flop.

Actually it proves he is different and not in regards to his battle abilities. I just made a post in the official chapter discussion thread about DD personality. An arrogant rich kid that thinks the entire world is trash accept for him and then suddenly ends up in the slums is quite a common occurrence in series. In most cases however that ends with the rich kid just getting back safely to his palace, but gained some understanding of the less fortunate. He learned a lesson.

Now with DD. He wanted desperately to remain a CD, but was forced to accept the reality he wasn't one and probably couldn't become one anymore. This created two personalities that are in conflict with each other. On one hand the CD personality and on other hand the personality of the pirate that has to accept the situation as it is and most of the time the CD personality is suppressed, but now it's surfacing again because Law and Luffy are pushing his buttons.
