Story of Zephon
Zephon was born into the Inuzuka clan of Konohagakure and was
born to Eleanor Inuzuka and his father had been "scared" off by her,
much like Kiba's father had. Zephon was born smaller and weaker then
most babies should have been and this caused him to grow much slower
and be much smaller then most of the other kids in his generation.
This difference in physical strength had left Zephon being outcasted
away from the rest of his clan and was mocked for it. At the time
however, Zephon didn't understand what they meant when they called him
a runt and went about normally.
That is until he was cornered by his cousins that were two years
older, 7 years old. They had already received their dog companions
while Zephon hadn't. These kids had trapped him and had made fun of
him using names that they heard their parents using to mock him.
Zephon began to cry as they backed him into a small corner in a
storage room. Zephon's cries were heard however and his mother had
barged into the room telling them to leave him alone. As the kids
walked away, they whispered things to his mother about her being alone
under their breath. Zephon had been guided away by his mother and on
the way out, he spotted the kids who were being praised for their
growth with their dog companions. Zephon whispered to his mother, "I
need a strong dog, mom."
The night was restless for Zephon as he dreamed about those kids and
how their eyes had been so judging to him. In this dream, Zephon was
surrounded by the kids first, who mocked him again, then by his clan,
and finally by his father that had left his mother. Zephon woke in the
middle of the night, sweating and breathing heavily. He couldn't sleep
until morning came.
When the sun rose, Zephon was sitting on a large rock outside of his
clan's grounds and watched the horizon change colors. He could hear
the howls of the new-born puppies that were raised for his generation.
When the howls ended, his mother came and asked if he was ready to get
his dog companion, he was one year late on doing it. Zephon didn't
look at her and just nodded his head. He clambered down the rock and
went to the dog holding area, yet something was wrong, all the dogs
were gone.
When he approached the empty pens, he wondered if he was late, again.
He looked over to the dog breeder, Aidan. Aidan responded by walking
over and patting Zephon's head, "I'm sorry, kid." Zephon had shed one
tear and ran off towards a fielding outskirting the clan's grounds.
His mother had approached, followed by her own dog partner, Able.
Zephon noticed that his mother had something in her arms, covered in
cloth. He looked up and had gotten the largest grin on his face, the
tears were unnoticable.
A small white-haired puppy came out of the cloth when his mother lowered him to the ground. The puppy, timid at first, was scared of Able and scared of the small boy that looked almost as frightened as him. The puppy had slowly approached him and Zephon felt a connection with him, they were the same. They had both been frightened of the things and people around them. Their fear would make them stronger.
Zephon entered the academy a year after receiving Allegro, Zephon was still smaller then the other kids at this time as well, and they were inseparable like most Inuzukas and their partners. At first, Allegro would rest inside of Zephon's coat but after a few months, he wouldn't fit anymore so he moved to resting on his head.
When he first entered the academy, he almost never saw his cousins and they seemed so distant to him. The only time he seemed to ever see them was when he would attend clan gatherings and even then, they ignored his presence. Zephon still felt their eyes judging him but this time he had someone with him, Allegro.
One day, in his second year of the academy, he was in a sparring class which integrated all the years and the teachers began to pair off students. Zephon had noticed his cousins were in their own circle and they made fun of anyone that walked by. Zephon made eye contact with one of them, Zephon tried to look away but he couldn't. He returned the gaze, with a large outstretched grin. His name was Amir, son of the dog breeder. Zephon knew that it was Amir because he had been praised as "The Prodigy of The Inuzuka" and he had this commanding presence over the other boys. Zephon was known as "The Failure of The Inuzuka."
Amir's class and Zephon's had been paired off with each other and the instructor's had thought it would be a good idea for the Inuzukas to face off. Amir was opposite of Zephon in the sparring circle and was giving him the proper "Oss." Zephon noticed a difference with Amir however. Amir had a more feral appearance but his eyes were soft. Amir also seemed kinder then the others, while they teased others, he complimented them.
"Amir Inuzka, Zephon Inuzuka, begin!", yelled Insructor Rhys. Amir started defensively as he waited for Zephon to strike first. Zephon fought with an opposite style, he tried to get the first blow. Zephon began to charge with a right punch but Amir was able to dodge while being able to hit Zephon in the side causing Allegro to fall to the ground, landing on his feet although Zephon wasn't as lucky. Zephon got up and looked at Amir with rage in his eyes and Amir responded with a calm reply, "Are you ready to really start now?"
Amir set down his own dog companion which was about twice the size of Allegro, Amir named him Gareth. Due to the fact that Aidan was his father, he was able to get the healthiest and largest dog of the litter. Gareth began to growl and Allegro and he returned it. While the dog were growling, Amir and Zephon continued their fight, Zephon making wild swings at Amir while Amir dodged and countered. As heir fight went on, Zephon felt as though Amir was actually speeding up rather than slowing down. Zephon realized what was happening when it was too late, his wild swings fatigued him and caused him to slow down. Amir however was not making the same completely wild attacks and Amir used more precise attacks, still with the ravages nature of and Inuzuka however.
Gareth was able to land his first attack and quickly gained an advantage within seconds. Allegro tried to fight back but Gareth was able to shove him aside with only his head. Allegro kept charging but to no avail. Allegro was eventually shoved far aside and Gareth got on top of him, growling in his eyes. Allegro felt a shiver down his back and to his tail. Amir called out "Stop Gareth," and continued to fight Zephon. Zephon had become exhausted and his punches didn't strike with he fury from before. Amir was able to land a vital punch to Zephon's solar plexus, harming his power chakra (Read about real chakras ). Rhys immediately stepped in and stopped the spar along with Amir's teacher. The instructors told them to give each other the Seal of Reconciliation.
When Zephon returned home, he ran off to the rock where he watches the sun-rise and sunset. The rock had been worn down where Zephon would sit and created a small crevice. He thought to himself, "What if I had beaten him? Would people finally acknowledge him? Would they call him the 'prodigy'? Would...I be accepted?"
After the academy, Zephon led a normal life, well as normal as an Inuzuka could have. Zephon joined a team lead by a young Jounin from the Nara clan. He also had a boy the same age as Zephon that was from the Hyuuga clan on his team along with a timid girl from Aburame clan. They were able to complete some B-Rank missions while they were on the sane team and due to the great team composition, they were one of the best teams of their year. Amir's team had surpassed his however.
Amir's team leader was a Jounin from the elite clan, Uchiha. His team had an outgoing girl from the Yamanaka clan and a boy named Hanai Sato. This team was usually charged with special responsibilities and all of them had been promoted to chunin at their first chunin exams. A feat that is considered near impossible. Amir and Zephon had fought many more times but when the Third Shinobi World War broke out, they had to put that aside.
In the war, Zephon's team was usually backlogs support and never really faced true combat while Amir's team had many sabotage missions. One day in the later half of the war, his team was given the mission to destroy a small enemy convoy. Zephon's team was to back them up and they began their ambush. They attacked the end of the convoy and realized their mistake after it was too late.
Amir lead the ambush and after attacking the end of their convoy line, he looked back and realized that they were only attacking civilian. Amir had began to lose his mind and turned on his teammates. When his team members attacked the civilians, Amir attacked them with a double transformation with Gareth. After killing his own teammates, he apologized to the fearful civilians and signaled for Zephon's team to enter.
As Zephon and his team entered, he noticed the bodies of civilians and when he approached the civilian leader, he thanked him for stopping the others from attacking them. As Amir began to leave, he was stabbed by a kunai held by the leader of the convoy. The civilians used a body flicker technique and released their transformation jutsu. Zephon had entered a feral rage and lost control of his own self and attacked anyone nearby, including Allegro. After he had killed all of the remaining civilians, Zephon confronted the leader of the ninjas and asked him a question, "Why?" Zephon in his rage attacked and killed him. The war ended the next day and Zephon had left Konohagakure to become a mercenary but what will become of him now is not history...
