On that cool Autumn evening
Upon the ground scattered with auburn leaves
Aimlessly treaded a young child, who perhaps
Had yet to see three sets of seasons

Sunlight slowly faded away
Just like the light inside him
A mere stranger to himself
Desperately clinging onto fragile life

Lost in an ocean of confusion
His memory had failed him
Remember he could not
Anything of his past
Doubt clouded judgement
Had he ever met another before?

Mind numb with longing
Unable to see his place in this world
He continued on with a heavy heart
Cared not if he would see the next day

But fate was not so cruel
It reached out to this child
For walking with head down
Who could not but notice?

A gentle hand then felt
Lifting this bowed head up
Through tired eyes
A tall man he could see
What was this feeling
Of warmth around him?

Looking up with wide eyes
Swiftly was he lifted up
Into the arms of an unknown
A silent bond existed between the two

For many a days
Happiness was existent
Precious memories were formed
Before fate struck down again

Now a boy who had seen
Eighteen sets of seasons
Joy was hard to come by
Only confusion reigned

Just like the snow around him
Time froze, to reach an end
With heart beat decreasing
Strength slowly ebbing away

Only the sound of a silent countdown
Echoing in his hollow mind
A final conversation was made

Five... Who am I?
Four... Where am I?
Three... Why am I here?
Two... I can't remember... Anything
One... Oh wait... There was... Someone
Zero... I'm coming home... Now

With last thoughts heard
Darkness engulfed this soul
All control of body lost
Heart ceased to beat

Last breath escapes
As onto this stark white snow
Embraced by eternal coldness
He slowly falls...
