Shikamaru runs towards the dummy with his fastest pace he could, as his sensei instructed making his movements look like a heavy attack and intending to do some heavy damage. As Shikamaru enters CQC again he uses his right leg to jump off the ground and uses his left leg to swing to his right to make the move look like it was a high kick. As the kick passes by the dummy, the momentum gained from the kick Shikamaru spins on his axis and so his body twists near the direction of the kick. Shikamaru uses his right leg that he extends back and deal a powerful but simple blow to the dummy's ribcage sending him flying backwards

So then, time for my second favourite ''technique'' if you'd call it that. It is essentially again, just a simple kick, but it's the timing to use this in the most perfect situation which can just devastate your opponent.

Ever played the game limbo? I imagine your body to be something like that, so as his punch is incoming, bend your knees and your back at the same time, not stopping the momentum from his fist but rather, allowing it to simply move above your head, and at the same time extend your right leg in an upwards direction. Your leg will shoot upwards, going above your head and striking his chin, knocking him high into the air. The main power behind this attack is allowing yourself to fall backwards, by amassing your body as a sort of spring you can amplify your power and flexibility, enabling your kick to go at a faster rate, and effectively hit your opponent when he least expects it.

Shikamaru sees the dummy approach him as he goes for the punch, Shikamaru bends his knees and bends his back at the same time as if he was doing the limbo, the dummy's punch goes just above his face as this happens Shikamaru extends his right leg upwards aimed below the dummy's head striking his chin this knocked the dummy high into the air. seems like a very handy technique to have sensei

Alright, let's take a small break and calm down. So, what can you tell me about Palm thrusts in general? What are their aim and when is it best to use them, do you see yourself using them? And what effect can they have on the body? Palm thrusts are an integral part of Taijutsu and something people often use in the wrong situations which will lead to them being killed; to complete Taijutsu you have to first understand everything about Taijutsu! *Gets out a notepad and pen* SO TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW!

Shikamaru could do with a rest as he sensei said, sensei Kerrah started to question Shikamaru knowledge about palm thrusts; but as usual his sensei is being loud and energetic it wasn't a bad thing he personality enjoyed it but it got annoying when he was in your face in this particular area he didn't know a lot about taijutsu and but did know what a palm thrust is and he thought about his answer for a moment as they take a break. Shikamaru said you could use a palm thrust as a leverage for something bigger like a more complex move you could palm thrust the opponent into the air and the follow with a leg drop which would hurt the opponent, you could also knock someone to the ground using a palm thrust or just knock them backwards or off balance with a palm thrust.

Palms! I prefer them to normal punches that just involve enclosed fists. This is because they cover a larger area, and have a general 'knocking' effect, when you thrust your palms forward they do strike indeed, and the general large surface area of your palm can induce a stinging sensation into your opponent which does hurt, but it also knocks them back. It enlarges the range between you and your opponent, it disrupts their balance, it can even hinder movements of certain limbs. Palm thursts in general are associated with elegance, beauty and fluid movements. Take the gentle fist for example. SO THEN

To begin with, using your more dominant hand, with an open palm facing the dummy, I want you to jump above the dummy and thrust your palm in a downwards direction onto the center of his forehead, using your weight and the force of gravity to smash him into the ground.

Shikamaru runs at "Shortey" as his sensei instructed, he then jumps above Shortey and with his right hand which was open palmed hands and then thrusts downwards which great force hitting Shorteys forehead with the help of his weight and the force of gravity making the open palm more deadly smashes Shortey into the ground with a pummelling force.

Redirecting your force now, aim your palm the opposite way, to inflict an upwards thrust on his abdomen, which would send him flying upwards. The trick here is to use your legs and knees as support, and back the pushing motion with your your shoulders and back, keeping a straight posture will allow your thrust to be omnidirectional and if hit in the right place at the right time, could be pretty deadly.

SO LIKE I SAID! Just as the dummy gets up from the ground deal a palm thrust into his abdomen pointing skywards, remember the bending of the knees here is essential.

Shikamaru was pleased his sensei was happy with his progress but he always seemed to energetic and overwhelmed with emotions, Shikamaru quickly ran towards Shortey again as he was just about to stand up. Shikamaru bends his knees to get his centre balance right and use it as a leverage keeping his shoulders and back in a straight posture and thrust another open palm attack but this time to Shorteys stomach making him fly of the ground slightly before crashing back down

Bend down on your knees once more and jump up in the air, gaining the same altitude as the dummy so that your bodies are right next to each other, just about half an arms length away. Time your jump after the dummy has reached his peak altitude and begins descending down towards the ground, once your bodies are parallel to each other, use your more dominant arm to just send a simple palm thrust into the dummy's abdomen, but this time with no direction, simply forward. Use your shoulders and back to help you exert a greater force upon impact, and the result should be the dummy flying backwards and crashing into the Earth, looking sad and all.

Shikamaru thought he did a good job on his last attempt on the technique but his sensei knows best again he quickly ran towards Shortey bending his knees and jumping into the air, As the dummy is just stood up and jumped reaching his peak Shikamaru time his jump so he be close to each other near enough mirroring each other, Shikamaru uses his right arm to swing a heavy blow to Shortys abdomen with a open palm thrust but straight forward with his shoulder behind this attack helping him to exert greater force on this palm thrust then the last, this makes Shorty fly back and crash into the ground with great force

Now we're going to deviate ourselves off the course of palms and going to dedicate our time to the usage of shoulders. I want you to run towards The dummy, and once you're about a few meters away in length, not too far but not too close where you're an arms length away from each other, twist your body so that your most comfortable side is facing him and your more dominant leg is in front of your less dominant one. Bend down on your knees whilst placing the corresponding hand on your waist so that your shoulder 'pops' up so to say, it's surface area is more exposed than normal. Then, when you're ready, push off with your knees and strike into his chest with your shoulder, knocking him backwards.

Zer0 listens to his sensei about him blabbering on about moving away from palms, he quite liked palms as it provides more of an surface area to damage the opponent. Zer0 sprinted towards the dummy, as he entered short range about 3-4 meters away from the dummy. Zer0 put forward his right leg and his left behind as he twists his body, which puts forward his right shoulder and bends on his knees. putting his right hand on his waist making the shoulder more exposed then normal, Zero push's off his knees using them as a leverage and momentum to smash into the dummy torso with his shoulder which sends the dummy crashing backwards.

Description: The user will jump into the opponent thrusting their shoulder to strike them.
Next form of attack is related to the other joint, your knee. The knee could be a great way to deal lethal damage unto your opponent, but it's restricted in it's movement, you can't flow with it naturally and it's range is limited by our bodies. However, many martial arts in real life have been used the structure and composure of the knee to develop fighting styles around it, imagine a cement wall in your legs, crash that into someone and I'm pretty sure they'll be hurt.

*The dummy begins running up to you*

The best form to attack your opponent with your knee is when there is sufficient time for you to get into form and deal the attack, so as the dummy runs up to you, strike him simply in the stomach, this will hinder his movement and cause him to bend down. Using this time to your advantage, place your hands onto his neck and push him downwards as you simultaneously push off with your more dominant leg, with your knee bent and sticking upwards, using your other leg on the ground as a support to exert force with your pushing leg. Make contact with his head onto your knee, the strike should send his head banging and falling into the ground.

Zer0 then listened to Kerrah sensei on the next technique, he gets a very good in depth detail of the next set of techniques may revolve around. Zer0 saw the dummy run towards him at great pace Zer0 runs at him at a slightly slower pace making sure that he had enough time to get his stance right and timed perfect, As the dummy reach's striking distance Zer0 striked at his stomach with an open palm as this caused more of an surface area to be affected which caused the dummy to bend down while hindering his movement. Zer0 used this to his advantage and placed his hands on his neck and pushed it downwards while he raises his right leg upwards pushing off with his right leg as well. Also his head comes downwards, Zer0 using his left leg as support for his knee thrust and making contact with his head causing the dummy to crash to the ground.

Yes it is, seems you cant get enough of me sensei :p am I your fav student?

I would knee someone under their chin as this would cause a lot of pain and if there head goes all the way back plus with the right amount of force will knock that person out leaving him perfect for whatever you need to do.

Zer0 sees the opponent falling he runs up to where the opponent is going to land, as the opponent is in his grabbing distance Zer0 bends his right leg and leaps into the air grabbing the opponents ankle with his left hand and wrapping his legs around his waist restricting his movement. Then Zer0 turns them upside down so their heads are facing the ground and begins to spin them rapidly and smashing his skull into the ground causing him to be distort for a couple minutes. Zer0 then gets a few yards back and begins to sprint to the opponent gaining his max speed, leaping off his left leg this time Zer0 extends his right leg outwards and aims for the opponents head as he has just recovered "DYNMIC ACCTTTIOOONNNN!!" Zer0 right foot lands directly in the middle of the opponents face sending him flying back.

Description: A technique where one follows the opponent, closely matching his or her body's movement, just like a leaf that dances in the air is followed by its shadow. The technique is usually preceded by a swift upper kick that will launch the target into the air. It is mainly used to position an opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. This move by itself is harmless, but it is usable as a stepping stone for a great many powerful techniques like Front Lotus and the Lion Combo. That said, it also has a rather high degree of difficulty.
With this one, you'll kick one of my clones *makes one* into the air. Follow them and be their "shadow", mimicking their movements and reactions in the air. This is a good setup technique for the Front Lotus/Lion Combo. It's mostly to break your target's guard and turn them helpless in mid-air.
