The field of taijutsu mostly refers to close quarter hand to hand combat. Although it can also be mixed in with weapons like we've seen gai and lee use nun-chucks. The common advantages of taijutsu is that, you are up close and personal so you don't have to wait for any delayed attacks, it gives the target a smaller window to defend and simply makes for great RP. We've also seen that taijutsu has even expanded its use over to the elemental affinities like NB's Tai, this increases its chances against elemental techniques. Speaking of that, that is one of taijutsu's main disadvantages, ninjutsu and elemental ninjutsu, although not all the time.Since this is your first taijutsu training, let's start with a bit of theory. How would you describe the field of taijutsu? What are the commonly used advantages/disadvantages of taijutsu and what are some powerful taijutsu related techniques/abilities and their application in our RP?
Understood ^_^That's what I was looking for generally. Other taijutsu-related techniques include Gentle Fist, Frog Katas, even your clan's abilities are related closely to taijutsu.
Before we continue, let me tell you something: On here, taijutsu can be broken down into two main parts: Jutsu form and freeform. The first is learned in the same way as other jutsus, from a sensei/sempai/shishou in a training thread whereas the other is learning through practical means, mainly trial and error. In our training session, I'll try to teach you not only the first but give you help with the second one as well. Also, one other note: the most important thing to remember with taijutsu is that description is everything. One small mistake in your wording and you might seriously pay for it. Now, on to the more practical part of training. ^_^
I want you to run at my clone and strike him in the chest with a punch.
*makes a clone*
No sempai what I meant is that, real world speaking, if you attempted to do a right punch, by pushing your left arm back while delivering the right punch, it feels like it would bring off more power, no? Like try standing up right now and put both your hands out in front of you in a boxing manner. Then punch forward with your right while pulling back your left, doing some type of body maneuver that allows you for more momentum. At least.. that's how I see it a bit xdThat is correctly done with some minors mistakes: you accidentally said you draw your left back when you meant your right. Other than that, i see no mistake that needs pointing out. And yes, taken physics into account, by thrusting forward, you gain more momentum when doing your attack, as well as when you run with it. Congratulations, you know know some taijutsu.

Now this time take a running start and strike my clone with a jumping kick, extending your leg as you reach him.

Oh, my apologizes, I feel embarrassed now :ghehe:No, I understood that part. I meant this part:
As I'm running towards your clone I place my left arm out in front of me, diagonally as I pull my left on back over the back of my head.

Now, a standing kick hurts. A kick with more momentum hurts more, as you just demonstrated above. Running is just one of several ways to add momentum to a blow. Another is by spinning. I want you to hit my clone with a spinning low kick at the clone, hitting him quickly and a bit stronger than a standing kick.
*makes a clone
* I quickly start running towards your clone and as I get to his close range I come to a halt yet again. Having most of my balance and weight on my left foot, I extend my right leg outwards and deliver a high side kick, aimed at the left side of the clone's face. As my right leg nears the clone's location, I am predicting one of three things; The clone will use his left hand to grab my leg, or use both hands. If that's not done I predict him getting in a low stance and having my kick fly over his head. In reaction towards my predictions, just before collision, I bring back my kick and simply deliver a lower side kick, aimed at the clone's left rib cage, allowing me to possibly fracture a bone. Should he choose to use his hands before hand he will have to re-accostum himself to this sudden change, and if he chooses to get on a low stance I will successfully hit his head or neck area. It's okay, poppet. We're human, thus we're all prone to mistakes every once in a while.
By rotating your body into the attack? Certainly.

Description: This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.
Now, to introduce a new aspect to training: Feints. By tricking your opponent into thinking you are throwing a blow one place, they will naturally try to block that area, leaving another part of their person exposed, which is where you throw the actual attack, catching them off-guard and hitting. Granted, in our RP, it's nearly impossible as we must be clear with what we're doing and they can see the feint before they even fall for it. Anyway, if you get it to land it's a pretty nice feeling to have.
I want you to run at my clone and throw a kick at his upper body. This part is the feint; after throwing the kick up high, follow up with a quick kick, hitting him low.
*makes a clone*
Correct. Now, can you think of an instance where this might be useful?* I quickly start running towards your clone and as I get to his close range I come to a halt yet again. I don't think I follow the question sempaiCorrect. Now, can you think of an instance where this might be useful?
Now on to the C-ranks. We've covered momentum and feints now on to gravity. Gravity keeps us all grounded, literally; it pulls us down to the earth, and no matter how high up we go, we will have to inevitably fall back down. There are numerous ways to use gravity to your advantage, attacking from above and other things. One way we're going to look at now is using gravity to add momentum. You can use your body as a spring of sorts, dropping backwards, causing the front part of your body to rise with great force. The heavier you are, the more effective this is for you. This is the basics behind the next jutsu.
I want you to fall backwards, swinging your leg upwards, striking him in the head with your kick, using the gained momentum from falling backwards to augment your attack.
*makes a clone that stands in front of you*
@The previous technique: The best situation I would use this technique is when the opponent's arms are occupied with something else, allowing me to reduce the options of counter/flee, and thus allowing me to predict his next move and act on it.I meant can you think of a situation where you might use that jutsu. Any my apologies, I forgot to post the jutsu that time.

Description: A taijutsu where one launches a succession of high kicks and low kicks. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark connecting to the rib cage area. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint.
And you just learned this one.

Description: This technique uses the entire body as a spring, by amassing power through taking a posture where the back of the body falls down. With this powerful taijutsu, the user kicks just above the head. Because the power of the kick from the ground is instantly converted into a blow, the enemy hit with this attack will be launched high into the sky.
Now I want you to strike my clone with a downwards blow, hitting him to the earth. Tell me how this can be useful in battles.
*makes a clone*
IndeedAh, the beauty of simple jutsu. A lot of jutsus from NB Tai, start with the user in a lower position than the enemy. This simple C-ranked taijutsu blow knocks them down to the earth before they even have time to utilize such a jutsu. The simplicity of taijutsu is so wonderful sometimes. ^_^

And now, the inverse. Strike upwards at my clone, sending him into the air slightly. What use would this have in battle?
Oh yeah I completely forgot about opponents falling onto me :ghehe:Yes, that's correct. It can also be used as the inverse of the previous attack; that one is useful against lower positioned opponents while this one is useful against higher placed opponents, meaning you might be able to strike foes that are falling downwards towards you and just like our previous lessons on gravity and momentum can tell you, your blow striking them will indeed hurt.
