Sword of Totsuka vs Intangible Tobi

Can the sword of totsuka seal Tobi's soul while he's intangible? If I recall correctly, it only seals what it pierces, but some seem to think that it can seal him while he's intangible. What do you guys think?

I have no clue since tobi can't get hit with physical attacks while he's intangible but the totsuka sword isn't a physical weapon

No physical presence, no physical interactions with anything, it can't be hit or touched.

As far as I know Totsuka no Tsurugi, unlike sealing-techniques, does not seal the soul but the entire body, matter in other words. On top of that the soul of the vicitim is caught/sealed inside an eternal illusion.

Anyway, since Tobi is untouchable I doubt that it could hit him - but since Totsuka has no real physical form as well, and is mere spiritual energy, it can't be said for sure.

No, you have to actually pierce the person before it starts the sealing process.
