If you're just starting out, here's some great advice. Don't get in over your head. Start small. Everyone has great ideas, and they invision a masterpiece, but the reality is, programming is hard. Take your time and learn things the right way. If you can't write "Hello World" off of the top of your head, don't start on a game. If you need help, feel free to ask in the IT Section.

Great idea. It has been mentioned before. I still think its a great idea though. I wish that they would come out with it. You can join whatever village you want to join, and be your own person. The way you go about things transforms your character further into the type of person you want to be, thus shaping your quest and the type of ninja you are. It would always hold your interests. There is always new things for you to learn. After you beat a game, Possibly ger your own KG. Stuff like that would be awesome. Problem is that its ttttttttttoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. would b awesome.

DAMN

If you guys want to make a "community" NarutoBase game, I'm in, as long as we get enough people. I'd even be willing to set up svn if it was big enough. Someone should start with a flow chart.

Here are some ideas for you (or anyone interested in starting this):
Free, open source and cross-platform should be your keywords.
for your 3d graphics.
for 2d graphics.
3D SDK written in C++.
self-explanatory.

meh, it's not too bad, if you can work with an experienced team or practically sell your idea by pitching to a games company (or that was my plan for my game >_> )... i actually have a games design document pretty much complete... i wanted to do some concept art and 3d rendering and such in lightwave for some visual designs for the pitch... however my lazy ass friend has done absolutely no work he said he was gonna do so all work done atm is mine -.-

i also did a good games design document for college which got me a distinction grade for that topic, but as that was college work i can't really do much with it xd

the biggest trial for anyone is actually getting onto the games industry job ladder, there are only so many tester positions, and they're all taken up by idiots that think it's gonna be a bed of roses and play the game from start to finish as a "test" rather than repeat the same boring task over and over to find glitches U_U

Hey, this will be fun. So the game will be like similar to WOW or something like that? (Sorry, can't think of any other example) You make your character, train to level up, fight people, join a team, fight to defend your village, roam around a map, go to missions. It's like NB RP given "life"! xd I hope I get a notice when this gets realized! I mean, when its ready to be played, on. I'm no computer-game-maker genius xd

Hello. I can point you in the right direction with links to tutorials and answering questions, but I wouldn't jump onboard until you guys started. I've seen this scenario before :)
I actually just had to relearn blender so I have some good interface (beginner) videos.
Just remember that it needs to stay 100% free and open source.

And this would also be for Narutobase, so don't forget to have Nexus as a maxed-out unlockable death machine. :)

Crystal space is an open source game engine, written in C++ (see the links above).
