Author's Note
This is my first FF in a long time, so don't kill me if it's too bad. In a nutshell, this is a fanfic of Superman, Wonder Woman, and their adventures together as fellow heroes and companions. I hope you fanfic fans (alliteration much? xd) enjoy the story and the pictures as well. I make my own effects you know o.o
Theme Song
A little music to liven up the story.
Servants of Ares
In the bustling metropolis of Gateway City, Diana A.K.A. Wonder Woman, is sitting in her penthouse loft, overlooking the beautiful vista of the ocean, while sipping a cup of Chamomile Tea, when she hears knock at her front door.
Wonder Woman: Please, enter.
A man of great height and presence enters her loft, and closes the door behind him.
Wonder Woman: Clark? I wasn't expecting you is everything okay?
Superman: Not exactly Diana, we have a problem.
Wonder Woman: If it's about last night, I'm sorry that it got a little r-
Clark eyes widen in an instant, and lets out a nervous yelp before interrupting Diana.
Superman: No Diana, it's not about last night, which was great. It's about an attack that occurred in Metropolis today.
Wonder Woman: (setting down her tea) Oh my, how bad is it?
Superman: Not as bad as you would think. I was able to fend off the attackers, but something I gathered from the battlefield has been bothering me and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I would say it's some kind of token or emblem, but I don't know who or what it belongs to.Mind taking a look at it for me?
Wonder Woman: Sure, toss it over here.
Clark tosses the item that he scavenged, over to Diana, for her expertise on the subject. She studies it closely, with her eyes blessed by the goddess Athena, and on her initial inspection comes to the realization that what she's holding is an emblem of sorts. Scraping off some dirt from the emblem, the image on the emblem is that of a chariot, with two disfigured factors present on the front. In fear, she accidentally drops the item, alarming Clark.
Wonder Woman: I...know what this is.
Superman: You do? Well, what is it?
Wonder Woman: This belongs or rather belonged to my former mentor, The God of War. It belongs to Ares.
Superman: How can you be so sure, honey?
Wonder Woman: (clenching the emblem tightly) Clark, he was my mentor. He taught me things that I will never forget, things that I have forgotten, and things I want to forget. His emblem is that of a chariot, with two faces plastered on the front.
Diana, walks close to Clark and grabs his hand. She uses his hand to feel the emblem, to explain her point.
Wonder Woman: The face on the left belongs to Deimos, the god of terror. His very presence, is enough to send the most courageous soldier, to the psychiatric ward for evaluation. While the face on the right belongs to Phobos. His methods of attacks are a little more subtle than his twin's. Instead of outright terror, he brings the fears of his victims to live, eventually killing them if they are exposed to those fears for too long. Were any of these two, present at the battle in Metropolis?
Superman: No, just monstrous creatures that you would find in your average Greek myth tale gone wrong.
Wonder Woman: I was afraid you would say that. You see Ares won't resurface until Deimos and Phobos have made an appearance.
Superman: Why not? Why wouldn't he just want to get the job done right off the bat, whatever that job may be. In Smallville, we'd call him a deadbeat.
Wonder Woman: (sighs) Long ago, Ares was defeated by a warrior, who made sure that the only way he'd stay dead, was if she went to Man's World to realize that the world of men, wasn't as bad as the Amazons claimed to be.
Clark throws his arm over Diana's shoulder
Superman: That woman was you wasn't it?
Wonder Woman: Yes it was. However, enough violence and death, could resurrect Ares and bring him to his full power. I was fortunate enough to defeat him at only half of his power. If Deimos and Phobos are able to succeed in carrying out the deaths of millions or even thousands, than Ares could be brought back with all of his power and I don't know if the world or I could stop him.
Diana gently breaks free from Clark's arm, and walks out onto the terrace of her loft, leans on the railing of the balcony, and looks out into the sky, before hanging her head in potential defeat. Clark walks over to the terrace to comfort her, and leans on the railing just as she does. Diana rests her hand on Clark's back.
Wonder Woman: I know I'm being difficult Clark and I'm sorry, but I'm just worried. It took all that I had to defeat Ares the last time that we fought, and he wasn't even as strong as he should have been. I feel like I have gotten stronger as well, but I don't know, I-
Superman: Diana, you know that you won't have to do this alone right? Remember a couple of years ago, when we both made that promise to each other. Do you remember that?
Wonder Woman: (nods) Yes I do, but I don't want to sound cliche, saying it.
Superman: (smiles) Just say it.
Wonder Woman: Okay, fine. As long as both of us are alive, we'll never have to do anything alone.
Superman: Now, you believe that, right Miss Diana?
Wonder Woman: (winks) I sure do Mr. Clark.
Superman: Okay then, so everything will be just fine. So, what's our first step?
Wonder Woman: Well, we would need to find either Phobos or Deimos, and defeat them before they do something to resurrect Ares.
Superman: Since, they caused that skirmish in Metropolis I'm sure that would be a great place to start at. Shall we?
(Superman hovers over the railing, turns to face Wonder Woman, and reaches out his hand, with the sun behind him giving him an angelic-like appearance. Wonder Woman places her hand, ever so gently in his own, brandishing a smile as she does so, then flying off the ground in a similar like method.)
Wonder Woman: Before we go.
Superman: What is it, honey?
Wonder Woman: I just wanted to say, thank you Clark.
