Description: After performing the required hand seals Monkey → Rat → Tiger → Dragon → Horse → Dragon it then allows the user to generate a spinning column of water which will take the form of a snake with a gaping jaw. This snake can twist and follow its targets and swallow them. After it has swallowed them, it turns into a river that carries the enemy away.


The user has to perform a long set of hand seals, and by focusing their chakra and applying shape manipulation they start forming a body of water from thin air, making it a long, spinning column of water that takes form of a snake. Using the users chakra, it goes forth and attacks the opponent with it's jaws, crushing them and then carrying them off by turning into a river that could potentially drown the enemy as well. The range is pretty large so you could perform this from a save distance while also giving a nice water source for other techs just in case.

Description: The user creates a flow of gushing water under the opponent which traps them in a sphere of water. The user can perform an attack while the opponent is trapped. This jutsu is similar to Water Prison Technique, though the user doesn't need to keep his arm in the sphere of water.

The user focuses their chakra and applying shape manipulation, makes it into a sphere that traps the enemy within it. Unlike the previous version of this jutsu, this one allows you to move freely without having your hand inside the sphere. However, the user must concentrate their chakra into this at all times in order to keep it going. If the opponent doesn't get out in a turn or two, they'll drown. This also gives a good water source and can lead into good combination with other techs and customs as you mentioned. It's range is also better than it's previous version as well, making it a lot more usable.

Description: After waving the Dragon → Tiger → Rabbit hand seals, the user creates a big jet of water that is launched from their mouth. This technique works exceptionally well with Lava Release: Quicklime Congealing Technique to help it become like cement.

This was used by Kurotsuchi in the manga. After you weave 3 handseals, you gather a good amount of Water chakra in your mouth and expel forth a wide jet of water from your mouth, akin to a flamethrower in appearance; narrow at the base and wide at the ends. This is just a basic B-Ranked stream technique, and can be used like other streaming techniques to push back the opponent, etc. The only unique part about this technique is that it can only be used in mid-range. If you have a Kurotsuchi bio, then you can use it after the Lava Release tech mentioned in the description to harden the lava into cement. I'd personally use it as a source of water.

Ah, this one is widely used in battles. A very useful technique. You slam your hands on the ground, and materialize forth a large amount of water out of nowhere in the sky. Due to the gravitational force, the water crashes on your opponent and does a good amount of damage. If hit on the head, the opponent is paralyzed for some time, due to the impact with which it hits. However, to have an actual effect, it is only effective, if you summon the water atleast 10 meters above the opponent. You need to keep your hand on the ground, for summoning the water fully. Also, you can cancel the technique whenever you like. The range is excellent too. A common usage is to push the opponent into the sky, and then follow up with this technique. One usage I've tried is to summon the water and use it as a source of water to surprise the opponent with another water technique.

Basically the user performs 3 hand seals and gathers a fair share of chakra within their mouth and shoots it as a jet stream of water, starting off narrow and expanding as it gets towards the end. The is only really meant to push opponents away and can only be utilized at mid range. If you have a Kurotsuchi bio, you could use this particular tech right after a lava release to harden the lava, creating cement which would hold the opponent in their place. This tech is also a good way to create a water source, which most people would end up using it for.

The user gathers water chakra and by slamming the ground with their hands, they summon forth a giant body of water that can come crashing down hitting the opponent. If it lands onto their head, they can be paralyzed from the sheer amount of water and gravitational force of the wave slamming against you. To best utilize this tech is to be about 10m's away. It's also a very good way of making a water source, which can lead to another attack against an opponent.

Question regarding the last tech. You said it's best to use when you're above your opponent, so would this be good to do (or can we even do it)? Using a some kind of pillar, like a earth pillar to lift you into the air and then you slam your hands onto the ground to do the stromy blockade tech?

I don't understand why you would lift yourself up and then slam your hands on the ground. Your opponent would intercept you before you reach the ground.

The user can also ride the wave, allowing him to travel at high speeds and attacking the enemy. The user can create a small ocean worth of water even in barren conditions and can use the water for additional techniques.

One of the most widespread water techniques B-Rank can offer. This is a canon technique, and was demonstrated by Kisame in the manga, against Team 10. It involves performing one handseal and then gathering a large amount of Water chakra in your gullet. Once you gather it, you exhale forth a massive amount of water from your mouth at high speeds, which forms a small ocean worth of water in mere seconds. You can exhale the water forward as well, in the form of a massive wave, to intercept widespread techniques, or to create a large water source. The main application is to expel the water downwards at the ground, and the recoil force lifts you up in the air. You need to focus on your chakra until you fully expel out the water. It's upto you if you want to expel a large amount of water, or halt the technique midway by expelling only a medium amount. You can ride the wave, and use it to crash on your opponents. The range is very good too.

Well, now, you can use this technique to actually dodge other techniques by jumping. Freeforming jumping isn't allowed, but since jumping is mentioned in the description, you can jump and dodge techniques. Most of the RP'ers use it that way, instead of utilizing the full technique. Anyway, coming to the technique; you jump into the air, and channel Water chakra to your sword, stabbing your sword into the ground as you land. Once your sword pierces the ground, the Water chakra is sent underground, and a pillar of water rises under the opponent pushing him away. Nothing too complicated.

Basically the user makes a snake hand seal and focuses a large amount of chakra in their mouth. By creating such an amount of water chakra the user then expels forth a large amount of water that becomes like a mini ocean. Using this makes a large amount of water available and could be interrupted mid-way if you want to stop the expelling of water. This is good to set yourself up with the water or to block widespread techs. This can also lift enemies into the air and/or come crashing down onto the enemy by crushing them with the waves of water that have been sent out. And of course, this has a lot of range to it, making it rather safe to use even though you have to constantly concentrate on your chakra when you're expelling the water out of your mouth.

This tech is mainly used by dodging attacks since freeform jumping isn't allowed. Once you're in the air, you focus your chakra into your sword. The user then stabs his sword into the ground, which then unleashes the water chakra from the sword underground to the opponent and rises underneath them in a pillar.

Well, you can raise a pillar and push the opponent upwards, and then follow up with Stormy Blockade to crush them faster, since the distance between the falling water and them would be reduced as they're pushed upwards.

The variation of the B-Ranked one. A stronger version. With some difference. You first weave the Ram handseal and take a very deep breath, so deep that your body literally falls somewhat backward. After taking the deep breath, you gather your Water chakra in your gullet and exhale forth a massive stream of water from your mouth, which forms a mini-ocean in seconds, albeit greater in range and power than it's counterpart. The water has tremendous crushing force that can easily break bones and drown your opponent in seconds. After the water is formed, the user can form it into a giant orb, which can be used as a dome of water to trap the opponent and large summonings, etc to make them drown.

The user performs the ram hand seal and begins to gather a large amount of chakra. The chakra is being accumulated within the mouth just after taking a huge breath. Exhaling the water out of the mouth shoots forth a giant stream of water that becomes like you mentioned, a mini ocean that has the power of easily crushing bones. This tech has large range, which can be helpful and it also can be formed into a giant water sphere, trapping opponents and anything else, like summons within the sphere.

Isn't this Kisame's move?

A game jutsu. Pretty straightforward. You gather Water chakra in your hands and extend them forward, adding rotation to your chakra, to release a torrent of water which is spiraling in it's movements. It extends upto short range and does decent damage, considering the water has rotational force to it. Good to blow away opponents from short range, but you're extremely vulnerable to Lightning based attacks. You can set up traps beforehand and lead the opponent into it by blowing him away towards the traps. Ofcourse, you have to focus on your chakra to maintain the torrent and guide the torrent into whichever direction you want.

Another game jutsu. You gather Water chakra in your hand, and compress it in the form of an orb. Then, you release the chakra within the orb at once, forming multiple extensions of water, which look like pillars. These extensions can be directed into whichever direction you want, each extension having the same central point of origin. They don't do much brute force damage, but can be used to push away objects away from you or douse fireballs or fire pillars. They extend upto mid range, which is pretty nice.

By putting rotation with the stream, they've created a torrent of water that can be guided to the opponent by constantly putting chakra to the torrent. It has the power to push back enemies and it's fairly short ranged with decent strength with it. This, however, makes the user extremely vulnerable to lightning based attacks and like you mentioned, it's good to plan out what you're going to do before actually doing it.

Description: After doing the needed hand seals Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Ram → Boar → Ox → Horse → Monkey → Tiger → Dog → Tiger → Snake → Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Bird, the user will form a gigantic vortex of water in the form of a ring in front of him. It will then shoot a gigantic torrent of water that extends water over a large scale, surges upon impact and rises up to several dozen meters high only to collapse down, forming massive waves all around as it does. The effect is such that as its collapsing it resembles a waterfall, hence the name of the technique. In doing so, it resembles a huge wave, with tremendous power that can hollow out the ground. What remains after that technique's utilization is reminiscent of no less than the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is a considerably advanced ninjutsu, and activating this technique requires a fair amount of chakra. The normal use of the technique requires a water source which is manipulated into the technique but some users have shown the ability to use the technique as a water stream exhaled from the mouth and forming more of a gigantic barrage/stream/wave of water rather than the more intricate and complex use of the main application of the technique.
Note: Can be used with a water source or by using one's own chakra to exhale the technique without the need for a water source nearby.

This is one of my favorite Water techniques. And pretty brilliant too. It was used by Kakashi against Zabuza to drown him. You can perform in two ways: one, using a water source, and one using your own chakra to exhale it. So, let's start with the water source variation. You need atleast a small sized lake for this. You would stand on the lake and weave a long set of handseals, namely the Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Ram → Boar → Ox → Horse → Monkey → Tiger → Dog → Tiger → Snake → Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Bird handseals. After weaving these handseals, you send your Water chakra into the lake, and manipulate it, giving the water rotation to form a giant ring like shape in front of you. The ring would then proceed to shoot out a gigantic torrent of water, which can easily uproot entire trees and cover an expansive area in mere seconds. Needless to say, the opponent would drown if caught in the technique. As the torrent of water extends forward, you use your chakra to make it rise high in the sky and come down in the form of massive waves, which resembles a waterfall. The destructive force is so much, that it can hollow out the ground with ease, and has bone shattering force. It's not an exaggeration, that the resultant would be the aftermath of a natural disaster. Now, the stream variation. You would weave the same set of handseals and gather a great amount of Water chakra in your gullet and exhale forth a gigantic torrent/stream/or a wave of water, all depends on you. Consider it somewhat same to the Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave. The drawback obviously is the number of handseals required, and most opponents would react the instant the ring is formed, should you use the water source manipulation variation of this technique. The range is pretty excellent.

Description: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. The user will use the following hand seals to activate the technique Tiger → Snake → Rat → Snake → Tiger. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from the mouth, and is raised from below with tremendous might. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the user, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the user to control the amount of water and duration at will. Furthermore, because the field of vision is maintained even while defending one can easily go on to the next move, which is a great advantage. The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.

This was demonstrated by Darui against Sasuke. He used this along with his Lightning tech to electrocute Sasuke. You weave the Tiger → Snake → Rat → Snake → Tiger handseals and gather a good amount of Water chakra in your gullet. Then, you exhale water, in the form of a continuous stream. As the water is exhaled, you skillfully manipulate to form a circular like shape, basically a circular fence which can intercept attacks coming toward you. Now, this is advantageous, since your field of vision isn't hindered, as the stream is exhaled in a circular shape. You can also use this to intercept Taijutsu users and push them away from you, however, you risk electrocution, since your chakra is still connected to the technique, like so many other techs. Downsides are the no. of handseals required, but the usefulness of the technique makes it up. Alternatively, you can use existing water in a water source to inject your chakra and manipulate it to form a defensive wall of sorts, in the same way. The best way is to use this technique as a water source for other water techniques, since the amount of water makes it ample to use as a water source. Most water streams hinder your vision because of the linear arc they follow, but this one doesn't, as I mentioned above, since the water spreads outward and sidewards as it travels.

The user has two ways of accomplishing this jutsu. Either they have a water source available to them and they weave a long set of hand seals. By doing this, they then put their water chakra into the water source and essentially shape it into a torrent and make a vortex of water that goes flying at the enemy. It goes up and then back down in waves like a water fall and has the destructive force to destroy trees and the ground as well. The second version is the user gathering their water chakra within their mouth and shooting it outwards by focusing their chakra as it goes flying out of their mouth. Either way, the opponent would be crushed and drown in the water since there is so much. And what makes this tech very nice is that it's also long ranged but the downside consists of it having a lot of hand seals.

The user shoots out a stream of water and shape it into a circular water fence that is able to block and intercept objects. This could also be used to push away taijutsu users like you mentioned above. The problem is, since it's coming out of your mouth, you're very susceptible to getting electrocuted since you're focusing your chakra within that stream. Another alternative is using a water source that is available and create the water fence to do the same thing. The nice thing about this tech is, unlike some variations of essentially the same tech hinder your sight, where as this, doesn't since it's circular and somewhat resembles a fence.

(Suiton: Suiryū Kōbaku ) - Water Release: Water Dragon Biting Explosion

Description: The user will clap his hands and slam them on the ground, streaming an incredibly rapid stream of water through it, creating a large pool of water beneath the opponent to form, that gushes upwards in a burst, lifting the opponent high into the air. The user does the Bird → Dog → Snake → Rat hand seals after his opponent is mid air, using the water pool to shoot up to 8 small water bullets, designed to further raise the opponent into the air, disorient him and damage him. The water bullets gather above the opponent after hitting and passing through his position and form into a water dragon which then attacks the target, grabbing it in its jaws and forcefully bringing it crashing into the ground. The dragon comes down from above the target, bites the target and coils down, towards the ground, crushing the target between the ground and the now incredible mass of falling water. Tobirama Senju does this technique with his own specific hand seals, similar to how he does some other water techniques. Despite long and seemingly complex, the technique is quite fast to perform and trigger.

A game jutsu, shown by Tobirama. You gather a very high amount of chakra and clap your hands, after which you slam them on the ground, channeling your gathered Water chakra into the ground. You then manipulate the water to stream through the ground, which would form a large pool of water under your opponent. This pool of water spirals rapidly and violently, gushing up in the form of a "burst", which would serve to push your opponent into the air. The moment this happens, you string the Bird → Dog → Snake → Rat handseals and manipulate your chakra in the pool, forming 8 "bullets" of water, which rise up like bullets and raise your opponent further into the air, while disorienting him and causing damage. Once they hit, these water bullets rise above your opponent, and you then again apply shape manipulation to turn all the bullets together into a giant dragon of water which rushes downwards. Then, you control it via your chakra to grab the opponent by it's jaws, and forcefully bring him down in a coiling manner, slamming him against the ground, as the dragon would disperse into a massive pool of water. This can potentially cause a high level of damage if used right.

Another Tobirama technique. This was shown in the manga. You weave the Tiger handseal, and gather a large amount of Water chakra in your gullet. Then, you channel it to your mouth and exhale it as a stream of water. However, the catch here is that, while you exhale the water, you shape manipulate it to make it as thin as possible by 'sharpening' your Water chakra, and exhale it as a super thin and highly sharp jet, which has the ability to cleanly rip through several Shinju branches at once, which is a very impressive feat by itself. Your opponent will be insta-killed if he doesn't defend in time, since you can cleanly rip off his head from his body, as well as slice through rock like butter. The stream is very fast and you can alter the direction of the stream by moving your head, as well as you can create longer cuts if you wish, and can be dangerous to summons too. Can just cut them in half with ease.

Next up; this is the Water counterpart of the S-Ranked Great Flame Technique. For this, like the other S-Ranks, you inhale and then gather a huge amount of Water chakra in your chest. As a recoil action, you exhale out a humongous amount of water from your mouth as a gigantic torrent, which starts off with a very less horizontal width, but widens as it travels. This is one of the most widespread Water jutsus, and can be used to flood entire battlefields in seconds. Due to the water being exhaled in the form of a highly concentrated torrent, you can rip through certain semi-solid and solid earth jutsus and push yourself away from them, as well as this jutsu parallels Great Flame Technique and Great Fire Majestic Annihilation in might. A good way to counter Swamp Of The Underworld.

Description: The user will clap his hands and slam them on the ground, streaming an incredibly rapid stream of water through it, creating a large pool of water beneath the opponent to form, that gushes upwards in a burst, lifting the opponent high into the air. The user does the Bird → Dog → Snake → Rat hand seals after his opponent is mid air, using the water pool to shoot up to 8 small water bullets, designed to further raise the opponent into the air, disorient him and damage him. The water bullets gather above the opponent after hitting and passing through his position and form into a water dragon which then attacks the target, grabbing it in its jaws and forcefully bringing it crashing into the ground. The dragon comes down from above the target, bites the target and coils down, towards the ground, crushing the target between the ground and the now incredible mass of falling water. Tobirama Senju does this technique with his own specific hand seals, similar to how he does some other water techniques. Despite long and seemingly complex, the technique is quite fast to perform and trigger.


The user gathers a large amount of chakra within in their hands and slams their hands onto the ground. By doing this, the release their chakra into the ground which then emerges underneath the opponents feet and spirals upwards, blasting the opponent sky high. As this happens, you then do a string of hand seal to which it fires some water bullets which impact the opponent, causing damage and disorienting them on top of continually making them fly even higher. After this, you use shape manipulation to create a water dragon, which is controlled by your chakra, to coil downwards and have its jaw open to attack the opponent and make them come crashing down.

Then the user proceeds to exhale the water but apply shape manipulation as it's be fired into a very condensed stream of water, which becomes a super water jet that can easily rip things apart. If used on an opponent who doesn't defend, they'll die instantly because you'd blast their head clean off. All this is down by performing the tiger hand seal at the start though. This tech is probably one of the fastest and deadliest water moves available.

This is essentially the same as a couple other fire moves with have a narrow start but end up being very wide. The user inhales and gathers up a lot of water chakra within their chest, which is then fired off from their mouth as mentioned above, starting narrow then becoming wide. This particular tech creates large bodies of water which can easily fill a battle ground, and making a good source of water. It's also nice since it blows away some terrain and even pushes you away from enemies if necessary.

In the Konohagakure subforum, you're allowed to use anything you want. Be it Kinjutsu, Fuuinjutsu, basically any bio or anything. Those battles are known as mock battles. However, in the Battle Arena and the Ninja World, you can only use jutsus which you have learnt in the training.

Good. Now, tell me, why do you think Water Bullet Technique can counter Swamp Of The Underworld?

The reason it counters it because Swamp of the Underworld changes the landscape to a muddy floor under your feet, which keeps you trapped there and you using your tech places water everywhere, making it easy for you to step right out of it. Plus it just washes all the mud away too!
