Lol, I'm guessing someone did the exact same thing as me XD

Actually one question! A jutsu like this needs a Hyuuga to be able to perform right? Don't most of these jutsu's that require a specific character/clan state which is required on the bottom? I don't see it on here except for them using the word Hyuuga in the description.

(Suiton: Mizu Hari) - Water Release: Water Needles Technique

From now on, I'll be RP'ing with my Hashirama bio. U_U
You must be registered for see images

Jiraiya had the basics down and Hashirama hadn't expected less from one of the legendary Sannin. The water element, however, was difficult to master, and even jounin level shinobis had to perform a long array of handseals for their techniques, unlike his brother Tobirama, who was a gifted master of this element. Hashirama wasn't less; he could be considered the second best water user after Tobirama. But, his skill lied in his unique Wood element, which could only be used by him, and those who had stolen his DNA in his final battle with Madara. Jiraiya had requested training from the legendary Shodaime himself, and in his brother's absence, he was the perfect person to learn Water from.

Like other elements, this process involves nature manipulating and shape manipulating your chakra. You know these terms(nature and shape manipulation). Can you explain them to me?

I don't need to explain this to you. You may be knowing this special chakra paper, which is made from trees fed with chakra. Now, the first step involves channeling your Water natured chakra into the paper. Like other elemental natures, you've got to gather your chakra in your hands and imagine the properties of water, focusing on them, your only thought being them. You have to then "alter" your raw chakra in such a way, so as to make it "mimic" the properties of actual water; calm and free-flowing. For an average shinobi, it takes a lot of time to change the nature of his chakra. Calmly sit down and free your mind of worries, your only focus being on changing your chakra nature. Here, take this paper and hold it between your index and middle finger. If you successfully alter your chakra nature into Water natured chakra, the paper will get wet. Once you demonstrate this for me, I will explain you the process and concept of nature and shape manipulation.

Saying this, Hashirama darted to the nearby lake at the side, while observing Jiraiya's progress.

Sounds good.

Nature Manipulation: You are changing you raw chakra into one of the five basic elemental chakra nature's within your body to be able to get the specific nature you want. Many people have a hard time with this and as Kakashi mentioned, most people by Jounin class have at least two mastered. During Naruto's training he was told to mold win natured chakra within his body, this is done by thinking and trying to form your chakra to be very thin and sharp in turn transforming it into wind.

Shape Manipulation: Shape Manipulation is somewhat similar to Nature in the way that it requires you to be able to change something untouched. It gives your chakra a form in which you can use it with, depending on how you want to use it. Like for Kakashi's Raikiri, he shape's it into a blade along with a combination with Nature to make an all piercing hand.

Jiraiya takes the paper that Hashirama had given to him and followed him towards the lake side. Upon arriving there, Jiraiya took a seat and began to concentrate. In his mind he kept hearing Hashirama's voice saying to calm down and have no worries, to mimic water properties. As he reflected on those words, he started to gather chakra within his body, in a very calm manner. He was able to hear his own heart beat, and heard the water along the lake side. Hearing this only brought Jiraiya into a trance and begun to feel his chakra flow within. Maintaining this feeling, Jiraiya focused his chakra into his hand and finger tips and then into the paper Hashirama had given him. Suddenly the paper started to get damp and all wet. "I did it Hashirama senpai!"

Nicely defined. I like how you used your own words. U_U

Nature Manipulation: Nature Manipulation is the process of molding and defining your chakra, altering it's properties to mimic different kinds of chakra natures. These chakra natures are the basic 5 elements; Wind, Fire, Earth, Water and Earth and they make the elemental pallet.

You must be registered for see images

Meaning, each element has some set properties and you manipulate your raw chakra to mimic them, i.e. for wind, you make your chakra super thin and sharp as you can, for fire, you "superheat" your chakra, etc. We all have raw chakra circulating in our body, through the chakra circulatory system, like how blood flows in our body. The chakra in our bodies is pure and unmanipulated, in other words, as I said raw. You perform different manipulations and give your chakra a new nature, forming a Release, i.e. Fuuton, Katon, Suiton, etc. The next process involves converting Katon, Fuuton, Suiton etc to actual water, fire, wind, etc. Roughly, what nature manipulation involves.

Shape manipulation: Shape manipulation, like nature manipulation is an advanced form of chakra control. It involves "shaping" your chakra, to give it various shapes and sizes, and this determines the overall range and speed of the technique. Shapes involve pillars, vortexes, triangles, spheres, and so much more. You mentally imagine the shape you want and then you shape your chakra to take various shapes. It is essential to form techniques. You can't solely form techniques with nature manipulation alone. However, you can still form techniques with shape manipulation; for eg, the Rasengan. Naruto took shape manipulation to the highest level and successfully learnt creating the Rasengan. However, it didn't have any elemental nature like fire, wind, etc. What he did is that, he channeled his raw chakra into his hands, and then with great practice, made the chakra "rotate" violently. Later, he learnt to add an elemental nature to it, i.e. Wind.

Wonderful!, said Hashirama with a small smirk on his face. The paper turned damp as he had expected.

Can you tell the interactions of the Water element with the other 4 elements?

Okay, Jiraiya-kun, after you answer me, I'll tell you what you just did. What you just did was nature manipulation. You altered your chakra, making it mimic the properties of water, thus altering the nature of your chakra into Water natured chakra. The next step involves shape manipulation. You will basically shape your chakra into different forms, thereby forming shapes like triangles, squares, spheres, etc. Touch the water in the lake and flow your raw chakra into it. Then, alter the nature of your chakra into Water nature and imagine as if you were shaping the water you're touching to take different shapes. You can whatever you want, it is all upto your imagination. Once you do that, you'll gather your Water natured chakra in your lungs and convert it into actual water. Then, as you spit it out, you'll perform shape manipulation on it, to compress the water and form a small sphere of water, which you will spit from your mouth. This has a mid-range reach, and is one of the most basic water techniques. You can form spheres, cones, blasts, and basically anything! This technique can be used to form a small water source for other low ranked techniques. This tech requires no handseals, and is one of the basic water techniques. Aim the small sphere of water at me.

"Thank you Hashirama senpai!"

Water is strong against fire, so basically a D-rank water jutsu could go against a C-rank fire jutsu and match it I believe. If they're both the same rank water would win over the fire. Unlike fire, wind and lightning are good to combine water with to increase its power, such as with lightning increase its flow of electricity and and with wind increase the destructive power of the water jutsu. Last but not least is earth, which water is weak to because earth takes in water, making it muddy and in favor of the earth user.

Jiraiya walks over to the lake and puts his hand into the chill clear water and begins to concentrate his charka into the properties of the water element. With his thoughts about being free flowing and peaceful he feels his nature transforming into water and continues to pour his chakra into the lake and the water starts to take a shape of square. After doing so, Jiraiya stands straight up and continues to accumulate his water chakra into his lungs. So this, he starts to feel the water swell within his mouth and applies shape manipulation to it, giving a shape of a condensed sphere. Upon creating the small water sphere, Jiraiya shot it at the hopefully proud Hashirama and saw it clash all over him.

"How was that senpai?"

A little vague, but good. Nevertheless, I'll expand. And get your post count up, so that you can learn S-Ranks.

Relationship Of Water Release with other Elements

Fire: Water is naturally strong against Fire, because it has the ability to extinguish fire as you know, cutting off the oxygen supply that is needed for the flames to survive. When a Water and Fire jutsu of equal rank clash, the Water jutsu overpowers the fire jutsu and continues on weakened by one-rank, i.e. if a there's a C Rank Water vs C Rank Fire, the rank of the water jutsu becomes D-Rank, although it still continues on toward the opponent, but nearly useless. However, if there's a D Rank Water vs C Rank Fire clash, the two jutsus neutralize each other, and form some amount of steam, depending on how widespread the techniques are and also how intense. There's a common misunderstanding that just because Water>Fire, it always wins. This is not the case. You simply can't throw a small sphere of C-Ranked water, and expect it to win against a large and widespread stream of C-Rank fire, meaning size and range of the technique are also important when considering strengths and weaknesses. Another misconception is that, one can't combine Water and Fire techniques, which is horribly wrong. If you put the right amount of chakra, and combo the right water jutsu with the right fire jutsu, the resultant would be deadly steam, which can cause high level burns.

Wind: Water and Wind, are neutral to each other, and equal ranked Water vs equal ranked Wind cancel each other completely, scattering the water droplets harmlessly, which contain no chakra in them. Obviously, a stronger ranked Wind can overpower a weaker ranked Water technique and continue on weakened however, for eg: A rank wind vs B Rank Water = B Rank Wind continuing on towards the opponent. Water and Wind can make good combos, and one canon example would be Yamato and Naruto's Typhoon Water Vortex. Yamato formed a spiralling water jutsu in his palms and combined it with Naruto's Wind Rasengan, and the violent rotation of the chakra in the Rasengan, along with wind's properties, formed a powerful vortex of water, which would even extinguish Kakuzu's Wind-Fire combo. Again, however, the rank and size come into play here. A small sphere of C-Ranked water, can't win against a powerful C-ranked wind blast.

Earth: Water is weak to Earth, since Earth has the solidity and durability to withstand the might of water techniques. But, as I mentioned in one of the starting posts, Water is a special element. Even though it can't break Earth, being fluid in nature, it re-directs its course of flow, and continues on. The prime reason that Earth>Water, because Earth has good absorbing properties, and can easily absorb water techniques, stopping their flow. Water and Earth in the right combo, form mud, and can be used to hinder the balance of the opponent, or to blind him, by aiming the mud on his eyes.

Lightning: This is a very interesting thing here, because there's no real cancellation of techniques, when Lightning and Water are thrown in opposition. Water is an excellent conductor of lightning, and hence one can combo a water and a lightning technique to form lightning which travels faster than normal, because of the water medium. But, it can backfire too, so one has to be very careful while taking in mind these factors. The best example would be Darui's combination of water and lightning releases, to electrocute Sasuke.

The small sphere of water harmlessly travels toward Hashirama, who simply blocks it by extending his arms in front of his body.

You learnt:

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.
Now, the D-Ranks had only one projectile jutsu, so now it is time for C-Ranks. From here on, you'll analyze the jutsu for me, and analyzation would include advantages and disadvantages of the jutsu, all in one paragraph. Basically, a discussion style thingy. No need for a template. I'll be posting the techniques as we advance on. I need detail in your replies, okay? U_U

(Suiton: Mizu Yashiken no Jutsu) - Water Release: Water Palm Blade Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will first strike their target with couple of punches and kicks them lifting the target into the air and the user will then concentrate their chakra into their palm and then swinging their arm in a arc they release chakra creating a cresent blade of water that strike the target.

Nothing complex here. You will first attack your target with a couple of quick punches and kicks, which lifts them into the air. Once you do that, you will gather your Water chakra and concentrate it into your palm, and swing it. The swinging motion causes a sudden release of chakra, at the point at which you will convert your chakra into water and shape manipulate the water, compressing it, while imagining a crescent shape. The compression will cause a crescent shaped blade of water to form, which will hit your target and cause a small amount of damage. You can aim the blade at your opponent's neck, to hinder his breathing for a while. The water blade goes like a boomerang. I wouldn't personally use this technique. It's nothing really special or powerful, and can only travel upto short range, although it doesn't require handseals, so it's fast.

I'm assuming, you know what short range, mid-range and long range are? I mean, in meters.

(Suiton: Haretsu sui Yashi ) - Water Release: Water Bursting Palm
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: After making the ram hand seal the user generates water around their right arm and then by thrusting their arm forwards they release the water in the form of a projectile bullet that drives through the opponent pushing them back several feet.

This one is similar to the previous. You weave one handseal, and gather up your water chakra, channeling it to your right arm. Then, you convert your chakra into actual water, and thrust your arm forwards. The thrusting motion, causes the chakra to be released at once, and you then shape manipulate it to form a bullet like shape. This again causes a small amount of damage, and you can once more, aim it at the opponent's throat to hinder his breathing. The range is once more short.

Yes, I know what short-long range indicates :) and oh ok, I'll try my best with the details.

The advantages I see with this technique is that it works rather well with taijutsu users and the fact that this is an extreme quick move since it requires no hand seals at all. One would run up to the enemy(if allowed to of course) and begin pummeling their opponent into the air, then in that quick succession they'd mold their water chakra within and swing their arm while applying shape manipulation to create that crescent blade to attack their opponent, and follow up with another move right after. You could even go for their neck and possibly hinder their breathing so that it is much for difficult for your opponent to fight against you in a close quarters match. The problem however is that it requires you to be practically face to face with the enemy, which I mentioned if the enemy even lets you get that close in the first place and it's not a rather powerful move anyways. It's too risky, such as going in for a move like that would leave you open for a close up raiton shot or a katon blast to the face if the enemy is good enough.

This next jutsu has a better use than the previous technique just because it's the same damage and it pushes the enemy away from you, giving some breathing space and more room for a devastating jutsu without you being in the blast radius. Mentioned earlier, you go in for the crescent blade strike you could follow up with another move, which this would be pretty good to go with. The opponent is in the air and you just make the ram hand seal in one hand and you begin to shot bullets at the person, and yet again, if hit in the neck it could hurt their breathing. This jutsu also shares the same problem too. The fact that you have to be within short range to be able to use this move and do anything isn't really worth it unless you're combining with moves such as the crescent blade or another fighting move.

Can you state them for me, then? In meters i.e.
Excellent! You have a good future. ;_; Keep up these replies.

( Suiton: Shawā ) - Water Release: Showers
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user condenses water vapour in the air above them to generate multiple projectiles of water which shoot at their target with a great amount of force and speed. The user can also shoot a barrage of small water projectiles directly from the swing of their hand.

A very basic and simple projectile technique. You gather up your Water chakra throughout your body and channel it to the atmosphere above you, i.e. sending your Water chakra to the water vapour present. You then perform shape manipulation to condense the water vapour. and materialize several projectiles of water. These projectiles are extremely quick and hit with force, since they descend from above in a diagonally downward arc. Alternatively, you can gather Water chakra in your hands, and with your hand motion, release these projectiles. This causes a little damage again, and you can quickly follow up with a combo, while the opponent defends from the projectiles. Requires no handseals, so happens very fast. A good way from not letting your opponent close to you, if you're a mid-long range fighter.

(Suiton: Teppoudama) - Water Release: Gunshot
Rank: B/A-Rank
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20/30
Damage Points: 40/60
Description: The user will do the Tiger handseal and will gather water in his mouth and then spits out either a single very large sphere of rotating water that can blast a huge area leaving it soaked or a series of up to 5 smaller yet faster bullets. The power of the technique depends on how much chakra the user inputs into it.

This is multi-ranked, meaning for the A-Ranked one, you just input more chakra. Here, you weave one handseal, and gather your Water chakra in your mouth, converting it into water, and as the water leaves your mouth, you'll perform shape manipulation to condense and compress the water, giving it a large spherical shape. The water sphere has a certain solidity to it, so if you aim it at the opponent's lungs, or eyes, it causes quite an amount of damage. Also, you can instead divide your chakra equally to form five bullets of water, however they individually do lesser damage, since the overall chakra gets divided equally among them.

Can you tell what would be the rank of each bullet, if there are 5 bullets in total?

I'm not too short in meters though. I think it's 50m for mid range and 100 for long, yeah?
The advantage to this would be that it's a very good move to set water all around your area while unleashing some projectiles at your opponent. Them trying to avoid these projectiles also gives you an open opportunity to follow up with another attack depending on what you want to do, it is also beneficial that it's a jutsu that requires no hand seals and operates real quick. The problem, however, is that you'd have to be like 5-50meters from the opponent doing this which leaves you open to possible counter attacks. On top of that, this isn't an immediate attack, meaning you have to create the water into projectiles using shape manipulation and in the heat of battle, time matters, especially when you're unleashing a move that doesn't do that much damage.

With this jutsu, the more chakra you invest into it, the more powerful it becomes. If you mold enough, it ends up being an A-ranked move. The advantage comes from the fact you unleash this powerful move and cover a good area, on top of that, if you wanted you could divide the chakra and make 5 smaller bullets to go flying at the enemy. This is helpful if you're trying to hit specific spots on the opponents body such as their neck or eyes causing more damage. It's also performed with one hand seal which gives fast access to this move. The problem however is that if you do decide to split of this move into 5 bullets, they don't do that much damage. Even if you decide to keep it at one super bullet, it could be dodged pretty easily depending on how far you fire this from. Likely anywhere from 50-100meters would give the opponent time to evade and do a counter.

Also I believe if you divided the bullets into 5, they'd be E-ranked? Considering if you infused the most amount of chakra and it's an A ranked move, if you divide it into 5, it would downgrade to the lowest level, which would be E.

@Bold:I didn't write these numbers in my original post. :/
You quoted it by mistake, lol.

Hm, ok..

Short- 0-5 meters
Mid - 5-10 meters
Long - 10+ meters.

Now, this was given in the databook, and in the mod, Adachi's official battle guide. But, it was moved to the mod section, for reason Idk why. Anyway, Caliburn, the RP admin, told me, that there is no set number, and generally people take mid as 5-11/12/13/14/15 meters. Any of these numbers i.e.
I'd take it as 5-15, since a lot of people follow this.

And, nope. I'll tell you the rank division.

D+D=C
C+C=B
B+B=A
A+A=S
S+S=Strong S

Instead of five projectiles, take it as 4 projectiles, and take the technique as B-Ranked.

Then what would be the rank of each?

After division,

D+D=C
C+C=B

B=C+C
C= D+D

Ultimately, B = D+D+D+D from the above.
i.e. B=4D
Thereby, the rank of each projectile would be D.
Now, there are 5 projectiles, which is a little tricky.

Take it as B/5=4/5D

and 4/5=0.8 which comes in decimal, and becomes a little complex for calculating ranks.
Hence, we round off 0.8 to 1, and take it as 5D, meaning the rank of each one, is D.
Clear?

Whooppps Lol, sorry about that! Yeah I never saw an official guide about actual RP battle so I never really got the meters actually done. I've only seen people mentioned in while fighting.

Yeah, the calculations make sense. Thanks for the explanation :)

I will add to it. It's my job to teach you, after all. :coffee:

Streams: A stream is a constant and well defined flow of an any material. For eg: a stream of water. Here, you gather chakra, and then simply release it in a steady flow outwards toward your target and you maintain that steady flow until the chakra you've built up for the technique is no longer there. This means that streams have their power spread out evenly throughout the technique as opposed to several individualized bursts of chakra that have their own capabilities, meaning you have to constantly focus on your chakra, however, you're free to alter the direction of your attack, since you still maintain the control over it until the amount of chakra that is built up gets exhausted.

Method 2: Streams/Water Sources

This method involves creating constant streams of water as well as creating water sources. What I mean is, the techniques in this method continuously releases water and/or creates such a large mass of water, it provides a suitable water source for you to use other Suiton techniques that do need a source of water. Now what this would mean is, you have to constantly fuel the techniques with your chakra in order to keep the on pour of water coming out or else you will not be able to create the streams or the large masses of water. These techniques don't generally require a large amount of shape manipulation. Some techniques do however most are just you creating a mass of water or stream of water where you would, therefore, simply pour your chakra into the technique and create an unfocused wave of water that travels towards your destination. These techniques also provide you with a wider and, potentially longer, range of reach to your opponents. There is also the granted advantage of control over the technique. As opposed to projectiles, where you release them and their self-sustaining nature takes over and there is no further control from the users, most of these techniques allow for you to manipulate in different general directions to allow you to hit your target even if they move out of the immediate range.

This is what a stream is. You see, how Darui is constantly blowing out the water from his mouth? He's constantly feeding his chakra to the jutsu, so as to maintain it. If you stop feeding chakra, the water just falls to the ground. Now, can you tell me the advantages and disadvantages of streams?

Thanks senpai!

The advantage comes from what you've mentioned earlier. These moves are able to grant a water source for moves that normally require water to be around and can definitely contribute to leading into another jutsu with the surrounding water in the area. It's also very helpful that you're able to control the direction of the stream since you're constantly giving off a stream of chakra into it, meaning if people try to evade it you can try to follow them with it (not specifically this jutsu but as a whole). The disadvantage to doing this is you're just standing still and focusing on this stream, meaning you are pretty immobile and the enemy has an opening to attack you while you're just pouring chakra into this stream. Another thing is that you have to be constantly pouring chakra into the stream, which means you have to being concentrated on your chakra the whole time. And depending on how long you do this, it could exhaust your chakra if you end up doing it for an extended period of time.

Well said.

Advantages to Method

As stated, these techniques give one a greater range of control over the technique seeing as the user will be constantly pouring their chakra into a continuous stream. As the technique is being released it can change the original path you have and make it go other places in the event your opponent tries to avoid it or blocking it with an obstruction. Another major advantage is the fact that some of these techniques are capable of creating water sources. With a large enough technique from this method creating a water source it opens up several more techniques in the element that requires a water source. This, of course, only applies when there isn’t any water already available to you.

Disadvantages to Method

The biggest disadvantage to this method is that, like all streams, these techniques prevent you from using another technique while this technique is currently active. The reason is, these techniques require you to constantly fuel them with chakra and thereby drawing your focus into them for the duration of the technique. If somebody goes for a different angle which requires you to defend, you’ll likely have to end the technique pre-maturely.
