just say they are both as important as each other... with just earth you have no life
with just water ... you cannot have a base for water to rest so no life...

It's the thing that everything and everyone is standing on, just so you know.

It's not if you can or cannot support life with just earth, it's how the earth is life. It connects us and binds us wherever we are; there is always earth there. There are places where theres no water. I'm sure that most of us right now and standing on something that isn't water.

he's on about there is earth under the sea... that is what the water rests on... the water couldn't just rest on the core of the planet (if it touched the mantle it would just solidify it to more earth (basically rocks)

Yes some cultures do think that the depths of the abyss is the gateway to hell because of how deep it can go
