There should not be a fixed # of people per squad. The real-time thing is stupid and isn't fesable; some people have bad connections. And there also can be more than 2 sides in a war.
We shouldn't have such regulations about who fights who, and it has to be planned out and everything... war isn't planned.
The only good rules are 2, 3, 7, and 9.
Well the reason behind that is that it's better than having a single thread with 20+ members on it, and you have to wait for 19 other members to make a move, and it takes about 4-5 minutes to make a move, so in all you would have to wait over 235 minutes to make an organized turn.
The real-time thing isn't stupid. It is more realistic, and better, especially since it takes several days to arrive, and also the defending team will have ways to know your coming. And do you really think it's good to have an invasion when everyone else is somewhere else? Also if we don't have the real time thing and stuff, people will be assinating the enemy leader, gathering supplies, acting as a sentry, invading the enemy base, and defending their own base at the same time. And it takes time to heal if you are injured. And ya war sort of is planned out.
The reason behind the predetermined teams who fight each other, is because the rule that limits the number of people in the fight is only feasable with this. Without this rule the other rule would just create even more chaos.
