Suggestion: New ranking system!!!

That's the problem with moderators, they already think they work too much and are afraid of working more. I won't speak further of this, because I've never been a Moderator in my life, thus I have only a member's perspective.

But the system you were talking about is totally different from what I suggested. People don't have to re-submit their ranks. People won't get de-ranked. It's simply an alternative to spam.

And you don't have to check each person's background. Once a week you can open a thread where people can ask for an upgrade test. 5 people are chosen, or the first 5 people to post, and then a Mod or a Sensei gives each a battle test. From the results of the said test, a rank upgrade (And the matching post boost) will be given, or not.
Or once a month, and 15 people are chosen. It doesn't really matters. What matters is that people get an alternative.

Here's 2 ideas.
1) Get rid of the ranks. The only people that get ranks are the role players. After 50 posts you can submit a bio. When it gets approved you become a genin. The same post counts apply towards ranks, but only when you post in the role playing area. Spamming elsewhere would do you no good.
2) Keep the ranks but use tenure rather than posts (ie; 3 months=Genin, 6 months=Chunin, etc.).
How's that?

1) The rank bars mean nothing. What's your problem with rank bars? Just ignore them. It's easier to make these changes automatic.
Againg, just ignore them.

2) Already been done, I think. It didn't work.

I never said you were confused about your point itself, just that you are mixing two different things together which have nothing to do with each other. The proof is that pretty much all posts so far, all suggestions made in this thread were from the point of view this was an RP-thing as rankings have only value in the RP-system and beyond that it's worthless, it doesn't have any effect. For example Lilian posted a suggestion, but she was under the impression, as I, that you were talking about RPers who just go spamming the forum games section to get quick a higher rank. But then you suddenly say it's global for the entire forum, but then it doesn't have anything to do with rankings, but with the qualities of all threads.

There is no correlation between between all four of them at the same time, outside what we call coincidence and the circumstances. I know the forums well and I see a lot, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm just saying that the thing your suggesting has nothing to do with the thing you're trying to solve. If you want to raise the qualities of the threads, changing the ranking system of RP will have zero effect. I'm not disrespecting your opinion, I just don't agree with what you're saying nor am I saying that you're stupid. Those are two completely different matters. I'm just saying that you are making a link between two things, which aren't linked at all.

People who RP sometimes go spamming in the forum games section because that way they can reach faster a higher rank and thus can learn more things. They rarely (it would be more precise to say never, but you may never know) go making crappy threads elsewhere on the forum to make their postcount rise for a higher rank. Why? Because it's not efficient. That way it would take weeks. It wouldn't even be counted as post raising because what then is the normal way? while in the forum games you can make hundreds of posts by just doing azrgsgzgrz *posts* and that repeatedly. The proof of this is that the two links you posted where threads made by two people that don't RP, so rank has no value to them. If you would do that elsewhere on the forum you would get yourself banned within the hour. Even if it were RPers who were making the crappy threads, they aren't doing it to raise their postcount as there are way faster ways. Where's the correlation between crappy threads and ranks? Non existent. Between ranks and spamming? The forum games section, where it was made for. Between crappy threads and spamming? If a thread is crappy, people are going to flame the person who made it and spam the thread, that happens often, but has nothing to do with ranking.

Also even if there are crappy threads, the person who made it can actually be serious about it and what's wrong with that? So there's also no guarantee between crappy threads and spamming from the maker.

All these things may overlap sometimes, but that's nothing more than a coincidence. You made a complete false assessement by linking ranking and spamming in crappy threads on the forums. So making a seperate section or something for RPers is going to change nothing as the crappy threads remain.

Bottom line is if you want to do something about the crappy threads, you don't need to search your solution in things like rankings.

Oh, I get it now. I agree with you. The problem he's talking is diferent from what I'm talking indeed. Though my problem still stands, even if it's a different issue.

Its very hard to spam without reason just to incrise your Rank for several ways...1st to have a higher rank in order to have better (in rank) jutsus and stuff in the RPG,and then mybe for someones to get along with a lot of peaple here.....personally i also find that system very boring not so "good"....Alternatives i dont have to suggest(that goes to Caliburn που να τον παρει ο διαολος)....I think also that those with better rank are better for those that dont have so much etc etc...anyway....im not a member here longer than 2 months so i dont know about the "black past" of NB forums and stuff,but i also belieave that a new ranking system is needed ,and to find one make a thrad,that you will only suggest ways and nothing more...

Well if you want a high rank just spam, but just because you have the high rank it doesnt mean your good at rp. You still have to do all the training like everyone else, and you still have to learn to be a good rper, so overall it doesnt matter what determines your rank

Threads are not deleted, they are moved to a section which you are nto able to see, so posts dont change

Face it, people are always going to spam, look at the forum games, high ranks means you can learn better stuff but doesnt mean you know how to use it you still have to train, if you want to be able to use that stuff spam in the forum games section until you can.

Look at -Pain- hes sannin rank but i dont think hes ever won a battle even against jounin ranks or below, this proves that ranks mean nothing.
