just thinking back when gaara fought naruto .... who else might have been able to take on gaara in order to save konoha?

kakashi? he probably wouldn't have had enough chakra to overcome shukaku

the rookie 9 or 12? i dont think so since they were partially wounded ...

perhaps a strike force consisting of kakashi guy and kurenai? genjutsu ninjutsu and taijutsu combined?

Kakashi would've done better then Sasuke plus Gai, Team of Jonin's, the 3rd of Jiraiya if they were randomly there.
