Sasuke's resolve of killing Itachi wasn't selfish or unrealistic. He was trying to repay the person who took the lives of those close to him. Sasuke is not Naruto who allows forgiveness to be his answer to everything. Forgiveness of that level leads to being naïve and being naïve leads to manipulation on being take advantage of. Not everyone follows the same ideologies as Naruto and who said that Naruto's way of thinking is always the right thing to do?

When Sasuke killed Danzo, it was for a good cause as he was behind everything that involved the Uchiha massacre. Vengeance of that magnitude is not a bad thing, and this shouldn't even be compared to real lifescenarios because in this manga, they actually fight for a living while we humans do not. Sasuke killing the one responsible fro his clans death should be a bad thing or unrealistic but it might be different with us as we have the court system to handle murderers and manipulators who do wrong things, but whose to say that they actually deserve to live.

He told obito to face his crime and nagato scarifiesed his life to bring back the people he killed. Obito did the same to write their wrongs. He forgives but doesn't do it without a cost.
