Furthermore, Hydra is far bigger than manda, which is bigger than bunta which is about the size of kyuubi. Because of this, Hydra makes itachi's susano'o look small, when, in reality, it's on the level of summoniings/bijuu's.

Madara's susano'o is what protected him from the impact. What else would have protected him? Even if susano'o fused with kyuubi, kyuubi would now be protected but madara is still standing ontop of it. Naruto has shadow clones to deal with that, and even then he can dodge.

There is a difference between fighting Zetsus which anyone can fight and fighting a guy that can create an army of Shadow Clones and dodge at unbelievable speeds.
