It's a case of Madara being above Hashirama interms of strength (obviously), though Shodai may possess a technique which would allow him to stop Madara (something along the lines of Shiki Fujin or some OP sealing technique). So yes, I agree Edo Madara > Hashirama though it doesn't mean the latter has no way of winning.

Hashi is still better than Madara just like Sasuke is better than Naruto FACT, if you think I'm a dumbass go and watch both final valley fights and see who won (I know we haven't seen Hashi's fight but we know who was the winner)

When nagato was making his chibaku tensei it was stated that he by konan that the size he made it took to much chakra... Meaning that the size depends on the persons chakra reserves. Madara got unlimited chakra . That should be enough to matching it

I interpreted that as Madara's chakra regenerating, like when Edos get injured their bodies regenerate. He cant make anything that surpasses his chakra capacity and would probably be too arrogant to try.
