Luffy had the advantage with G4, problem is it ran out before he could finish the job.

The sad thing most people don't realize, is that this means Luffy will finish this battle with a Gear 2 or 3 attack now or a combination of the two attack, because I doubt he can use Gear 4 twice in a row.

And as always its Luffy's job to take out the main villain.

G4 without a time limit is obviously > Mingo. Doffy may have landed a hit but it did jack shit. For Luffy, you cant even give credit where its due, Doffy got overwhelmed that's undeniable, and he would have gotten his shit backed in if G4 didn't run out at that second.

A healthy G4 vs Healthy Mingo would result in Luffy evading all of Doffy attacks and Doffy only making a comeback because of the time limit. Doffy wins but give it an arc or 2 and Luffy clearly takes it.

For now no one can deny Doffy will come out on top.

Yea Doflamingo is still the stronger guy. Took Law and Luffy to bring him down. Dofla beats him mid-difficulty if they start out healthy imo.

how many times did he use it in battle thats right its one up till now. he still needs exp with using it in battle, similar to how g3 and g2 got better as he keeps using it in battle.

I agree that Doflamingo is a bit stronger than current G4, but as with G3, sooner or later Luffy will probably make some developments to address the issues of G4 (uncontrolled bouncing and time limit). What I'm curious about though is what Luffy has planned to do after that ten minutes. He's sure it can take down Doflamingo, why didn't he use it earlier?

I don't think its a strategy or a new ability, he established that Doflamingo is basically on his last leg, he needs one powerful hit to finish the job.

You're saying that Doflamingo is superior to Luffy's gear 4 when he quite obviously overpowered him. If you try and produce some common sense yourself and read the last couple of chapters you should come to the same conclusion, however, I wouldn't go as far as saying Luffy > than Doflamingo.

Mingo you mentioned that healthy Doffy would be greater than G4, nah, not quite, you can see how taken back he is during the last couple of chapters by it which to me shows that if G4 was a infinite state, Luffy would win, but that's quite clearly not the case, therefore Doffy > Luffy.

Re-read the chapter dude, it's not just Luffy whose out of steam, although plot's obviously gonna give him a burst of energy in a chapter or two, but if you look at Doffy's sound effects, when he's walking towards Luffy and fodder co., they, or at least in the translation I read say "wobble" "wobble", and Ima take that as Doffy is pretty worn out too... Not down for the count apparently, but no way is he "ey-okay".

Doffy >> Luffy
Doffy > Gear 2 Luffy
Doffy > Gear 3 Luffy
Doffy < Gear 4 Luffy

I am by no means saying doffy is weak or that he could not beat luffy fresh, but it was made very clear by these last couple of chapters that

by doffy himself. If he outlast luffy, which he clearly did today then it's no doubt in my mind that he could defeat luffy, but I dont think you should say that doffy is stronger than Gear 4 because that certainly isnt the case.

By the way, if you pay attention to the past, I feel this arc will make people look at doffy, much like they looked at crocodile after the Luffy vs Croc fight. Even though crocodile won 2 out of the 3 fights, people still think to this day that he is weak (which isnt true) because luffy won the 3rd fight by plot. I fear that people will say the same about doffy.

Whereas I agree with most of what you're saying, this is the bit that I think is a bit off... Luffy showed to be able to spar a bout with him in base, then in second was faster but not stronger and in third, well, he just never hit in third so I would have to say Gear 3 is also >>...

Anyone who thinks Doffy isn't fatigued needs to pay closer attention to his panels in the past couple chapters. There are clear indicators that he's fatigued.

Yeah I did but still current G4 runs out of before doffy is finished.

I don't really care on the hypothetical improved G4...

No, it was established that Luffy believes one more blow will finish Doffy. There's a difference.

It's Oda's powerscaling and Under-developed Haki concept. Suddenly after so much Haki information, there is the "He is using too much Haki" that was introduced in the last chapter, I don't understand why now?

And if this is where Luffy stands, then either doffy is really close in strength with the yonkou and his reaction to kaidou means jack or Luffy needs another timeskip or he will get an asspull with Haoshoku (Unlimited Haki lol).

I guess my point would be that Doffy could not compete with luffy while he was in G4, yet if luffy had no time restraint on his G4 then he would have defeated Doffy.

I agree an improved G4 would be better but the current one has a time limit which can't finish doffy it seems.

Not really much of a improvement, Luffy would only need to extend Gear 4 use by mere seconds to beat Doflamingo, he is one blow away from victory.
