So, I have been planning to watch the Star Wars movies (I'm ashamed I haven't seen them yet...) and am wondering now,

what is the best order to watch them in, I have heard some people saying in the release order, the normal order (I, II, II, IV, V, VI) or another one, so I'm a bit confused at the moment. What do you guys suggest?

s u should feel bad jk :p

the release order is original trilogy IV,V,VI then the prequel trilogy I,II,III
i suggest u see the original trilogy alone ......... the prequel trilogy is substandard for a Star Wars flick

and after seeing the original trilogy IV,V,VI if u feel that u need to know some more details abt characters see the prequel trilogy I,II,III

so the order i suggest is 4,5,6 then if u really want 1,2,3 later

456123 because the quality gets better in this order you wouldn't want to see the best quality and then have to go straight back to the worst quality.

Well to me it makes more sense to first watch 1 ,2 and 3 then 4 ,5 and 6
movie 1 is where it begins and 6 is where it ends
if u start with 4 ur startign in the middle

If you read the previous answers, you would know that 4,5,6 is the actual series, and that 1,2,3 are prequels that can be watched separately...

4,5,6 then 1,2,3.

Also...just because this is a Star Wars thread... anyone else depressed that Disney owns it now and plans to make a final trilogy? :/

IMO

go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Saves the epic parts for the last and the story line up between 3/4 makes much more sense. People seem to dislike the quality of the older ones, but tbh, having those kind of special effects and what in the late 70's/early 80's just makes you respect it even more. Anyways, it's your choice, but I'd go with it that way. The "epicness" of the fights decreases (less animated, etc) in the last 3, so that may bum you a bit, but you have to learn to enjoy them for what they are and not what they're made of.
