WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD

First of all, about 2/3 of the way through the movie, I was convinced Rey was Luke's daughter. However, its never stated in the movie, although they seem to lay it on pretty thick toward the end.

Do you believe she's Luke daughter?

Second, I found the portrayal of Snoke to be quite strange. Is he really that giant, or was the projection of him enlarged? Previous adaptations of projections range from much smaller, to full size, to larger. However, in versions of larger projections, it was never shown to be full body projections.

Examples:

Normal sized projection, full body (in film)

Shrunken projection, full body
You must be registered for see images

Large projection, but not full body

You must be registered for see images

My thought is Snoke is actually that large, what do you think?

Overall, the movie was extremely reminiscent of Episode 4: A New hope. The plot starts with secret plans being hidden in a droid unit. Two or more heroes than take possession of the droid trying to deliver it to safety, which leads them through a desert. Some Darth follower is out to capture the droid and force strangles a couple people along the way. The enemy is housed in some giant, planet-like, space station that gets destroyed before the end of the movie. The only main difference I recall is the new General Tarkin. He, in no way, is subservient to Ren and actually seems his superior.

Do you see the movie as a plot copy of Episode 4 or not?

I'd like to give the movie 3 stars, but I just can't. At best its 5/10 or 2.5 stars. I gotta say Luke and Leia have had better days. We've been spoon fed Harrison Ford's old age with Indiana Jones, but having not seen Hamel and Fisher in any other movies.... they did not age well. Please share your overall thoughts and your answers to these questions, thanks.

It felt like New Hope for the current generation. Rey was a BADASS, although I have complaints I liked Kylo Ren (my biggest concern), Poe was hillarious, Han Solo was sad but I saw it coming a mile away (actor mostly) and got over it almost immediately and there's a fan theory that Snoke is actually Darth Plaigus rather than a random villain that came up out of nowhere.

I hope that theory is true.

I think Rey is Luke's daughter. She has the force, I heard there was a statement saying the movies would focus on the Skywalkers and Luke must have been the person that left her. Snoke is probably not that big. I see how it copies Ep.4. I'm not too bothered by that since it's a new saga. But they hopefully make it different in later movies. It's been 3 decades since the original trilogy so of course they aged a lot. Luke doesn't too bad IMO.
Overall, the movie was great IMO. It must have been really nostalgic for people who have seen the originals back when they came out.

Rey Skywalker doesn't sound that bad.

I don't find the Plaigus theory that believable, as he supposedly died and had no way of reviving himself. I mean it could be possible, but I find it real unlikely.

The scene that convinced me she was Luke's daughter was the scene in the forest where she confronted Ren. It was really reminiscent of the scene where Luke visualized an encounter with Vadar.

Felt too much like a new hope

here we have

a group of massacred jedi with one known old jedi that we know from a previous triology still alive that went into hiding
A sith that was trained by that jedi (and may or may not be reys cousin if she is lukes daughter so a sith that may be related to our main jedi)
also our sith is not sure if he wants to be good or bad ( altough that didn't happen to avder till later)
a sith that has a mask
our main old guy dies to the hands of the sith that was a father to him (obi wan was the closest thing anakin had to one)
we have a death star that blows up in one movie
we have "the resistance" *cough rebellion *cough
Also if Rey is Lukes daughter we have our jedi that escapes their evil relative and is seen 20 years later one too
also why was r2 deactive till just now?

question how did they find Lukes blue lightsaber when that fell down a hole in cloud city along with lukes dismembered hand

edit: calling it now ren and rey will fight snoke in episode 9
