Well thats that.Kishi asspulled it so that it can be used without sharingan and honestly slightly underwhelmed because I Seen this throughout the series on the originals

Can you show me another scene in the manga where he does not use sharingan for chidori?
Because at the Kage summit it was a rasengan vs chidori which means the enemy was not looking to dodge the attack but face it head on.sharingan is necessary in order to attack a fast enemy who is moving

Minato the creator of the rasengan has clearly stated this that it creates a tunnel vision effect meaning only a straight line attack is possible with no turns which sharingan compensates for,Its just another way to asspull it into being usable now.

I already knew about that Kage summit one.Apart from that I don't recall him using it without sharingan and even if he does it's always when both the enemy and him are too exhausted so a straight line attack would also work which is why he turns it off

Boruto's chidori use will be limited to slow-medium speed situations.

The reason Sharingan was important is because in high-speed situations, the Sharingan is needed to anticipate enemy movements so the user doesn't get killed while rushing the opponent.

High-speed + Chidori w/o Sharingan leaves the user defenseless.

It would kinda take away the feat if every "prodigy" made their own Jutsu... IMO it would shit on every char that did, basically saying it's not that special

Making a similar move with a different shape would not kill anybody would it?

But then there's nothing new about it besides changing the shape of it :/ it still does the same thing, except possibly waste more chakra

Kishi promised us he would have a different jutsue we have not seen before. So what I am expecting is not something totally unrealistic.
