But since everyone is putting in their 2 cent's I will have to say maybe he put his other ems in there? wouldn't you need a 2nd ems to activate the third power granted by the MS?

Go look at madara's mask again mister cynical...lol if anything you'd have to say that the third hole was closer to his forehead...not his mouth. I think some people just like to hear themsleves type. NEXT!!!!

As sneaky as madara is I can completely see him intentionally not telling everyone about the byakugan part as an insurance. HOW ELSE WILL HE BE ABLE TO KEEP AN "EYE" ON EVERYONE. The way his plan is set up I think he needs the byakugan and I'm not even a fan of the dojutsus. They're cool and all but I much rather see elemantal ninjutsu being used..even taijitsu...the whole eye thing seems like it gives the user too much of a pass. Too much power too quickly...plus it seems like most dojutsu users don't really have to work that hard it's more of a genetic-"if you have it you have it" kind of thing.
I'd love to see more opinions on this please. I see that there have been a lot of views but I want more replies. I love this manga and these discussions are very interesting esp if you make a prediction that comes out to be right...and regaurdless I think for him to fit the third eye his face HAS to be mutated (e.g. danzo's arm)

I think it's for air ventilation...His eyes are practically outside the mask. Meaning his face is probably squashed in the mask making him sweat a lot. So the third hole causes the breeze to fly in and calm his face.
