Like last week Kishi ended the chapter on a cliffhanger with Naruto and Sasuke about to get blasted into smithereens like last week. Why does he keep doing this we all know Naruto and Sasuke are the main characters so they wont die until the manga ends. So what's the point of ending the chapters like this? Instead of wasting all these panels showing us this one-sided boring fight that we know no one is going to die from. He could be having Obito attack the whole alliance that way someone will actually die. We NEED someone important to die. This is a war. Neji was a minor character who lost his importance to the plot a long time ago. Not to hate on him, I do like Neji but killing was the equivalent of killing Udon. It didn't even strengthen the NaruHina relationship. Which is still one-sided, and probadly always will be. I mean if Naruto isn't over Sakura by now than what makes you think he will ever be?

It pains me so much because he had the perfect opportunity to kill off one of the Kages in the Madara fight but chose not to for some weird reason. What are the Kages going to do on the battlefield when they couldn't even stop Madara? So what makes you think they can stop Juubito and Madara? At this point they would just be getting in the way. Speaking of getting in the way, this is another thing I don't like about Kishi's writing. He constantly states that the new generation surpasses the old, but whenever there is a threat if your part of the new generation and aren't Naruto or Sasuke than your useless against any of the villains. Let the past stay in the past. The old generation has already got their time to shine. Let the youngsters save the world.

He also had another chance to kill someone important off in the Obito vs Kakashi fight. Instead he nerfs him down to where a fodder could beat him. Not only would this be the death of a very important character but also would serve as a Moral Event Horizon moment to show just how ****ed up Obito's mindset has become. Imagine if Naruto and Minato were fighting the Juubi and than all of the sudden Obito warps in the battlefield with Kakashi's head in his hands. This would be a good representation of how ****ed up Obito's mindset has become in both In-Universe and to the fanbase. That he just killed the only person still alive that cared about him.

Oh well. I remember when I first started reading the Manga back when Madara was revealed which is where the Anime is at right now. I was so excited about the reveal and at all the godlike stuff Madara was doing. I thought for sure when he pulled that meteor out of the sky that SOMEONE was going to die. When Onoki stopped it I was like oh well maybe Kishi is planning on saving the deaths for later but it just went downhill from there.........Now I see that Naruto is the kind of anime where no one [of any importance] dies. Rant over.

ok...the way that things are...right now...Naruto should really get a new genre tag...Tragedy would be the best fit...cause the things look right now...everyone needs to die...i mean seriously, if they somehow manage to beat Obito now...it will be the biggest ass pull in history of anime...bigger than when Goku was fighting Freeza and got his SS1
said that last week...will say it again

im voting based on the pictures where Naruto was sliced in half and Obito face was burned off..
then Kakashi's face was still whole but it was separated from the photo.

that right there lets me know that Kakashi is inside of Obito's head and Obito will rip Kakashi's head off to get back at him.
Naruto on the other hand will get a great scar on his face and will potentially get sealed.
His sealing will be an epic one and all the kids will run and laugh together... ,but they will still be sad.

OT: Kishi thinks cliffhangers are awesome and  plus they build suspense and people wonder what's next?!

I think kishi wanted this chapter ended in suspense..but it didn't work, because, like you said, come on, everybody knows that naruto and sasuke can't die...the only solution is for minato to hiraishin himself and die, because that thing is attached :hint:
And yeah, we need some major character deaths...that would affect the story. To me, no offence at all, neji's death wasn't great, nor emotional, heroic or even convenient and useful to the plot :yeah:
Kakashi is nowhere to be seen...for 4 or 5 chapters...yamato, no comment...And the main thing is that it should be Alliance vs Juubito and madara. Not Naruto, Sasuke and Minato :vincent:...Alliance, they said..well played, kishi, well played...

By now, Tsunade, Onoki, Sai, and Kakashi all should've died. Hell even Sakura is completely irrelevant now, what happened to the whole "Team 7 is back"? Sakura is once again shoved to the sidelines while Naruto and Sasuke do everything.

Neji's death was BS, he died for pairing purposes. Don't get me wrong, at this point it's pretty much obvious that NaruHina will be canon, but for Neji to have died for something like that in the eyes of the reader is messed up.

Kishi's afraid of killing off characters at the moment.

Exactly, those chapters with Sakura was pointless. I think Kishi made Sakura relevant for a short amount of time for fanservice.

About NaruHina it still has as much chance of happening as NaruSaku and SasuSaku. That's why im pissed off about it Neji's death did nothing to even develop the pairings. Naruto still is very much attracted to Sakura and still doesn't like Hinata in that way.

if you guys can't figure out that naruto is supposed to be the next so6p then iono what you're reading....this was meant to happen since the beginning of shippuden....plus it wouldn't even be necessary if naruto didn't have obito (at his current power level) to fight.

.
Neji's / Tobirama's deaths were IRONIC.. agreed Neji's DEATH WASNT POWERFUL enough..
but his death was for Naruto saying he would change the fate of the Hyuga clan... however Neji will never get to see it now.
Tobirama died by listening to the suggestion of an Uchiha Kagami.. irony , but not sad .. U_U
ok...Naruto should really get a new genre tag...Tragedy...
that would be a perfect turn for this manga.. its kinda late tho.. U_U but it couldn't hurt..

...
unfortunately.. T_T

Sakura's development (JUTSU) were foreshadowed and expected if you paid attention to the right pics
and was long overdue..

Pairings in this manga between the kids are like a love triangle .. anyone could end up with anyone ..
that's why Kishi flips back n forth between Hina/Saku moments regarding Naru.
& Saku/Kari involving Sasuke.

Its for the potential that someone out of : Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Hinata, Karin will probably DIE..
for one to possibly end up with the rival for a love interest.

Neji died with the curse seal on his forehead so his death brought him tainted freedom... (his destiny didn't change)
Foreshadowing Sakura's almost death via Rasengan/Chidori . Kakashi isn't around to save her this time... O__O
if that happens again. (its been hinted at happening )

Hinata said she will NO longer chase Naruto AFTER the war. Said she'll hold his hand or something.. already happened.

Sakura's asspull power up was clearly Kishi wanting redeem her at last second. Only Sakura fangirls will defend her powerup and say it wasn't an asspull when her supposedly storing chakra was never mentioned or even hinted throughout the series.

Nah, I think NaruHina is pretty much endgame by now, it's obvious by now that NaruSaku is the Red herring of the series. It's been so since the beginning.

I think the worse part of Neji's death is the fact that he was right all along, it was all about destiny.
