Speed is a important factor you can't fight someone you can't hit or see

A lot of times speed is a factor, but it's really just battle-experience and overall power(strength, speed, intelligence, jutsu, etc)

I mean A is faster than Madara, but that doesn't mean he can defeat him

Minato is faster than Hashirama, but that doesn't mean he can win

I disagree. Speed is a very important aspect which can be a deciding factor in the outcome of a battle but speed is not the decisive element in a battle. Various other important factors - Power, Defense, Attack, Distance, Abilities, Chakra Reserves/Stamina, Intelligence, Knowledge etc. For example, Madara can beat Minato with brute power. Naruto, Minato and A are unbelievably swift but what could they do against Obito, Madara, Itachi or Sasuke who can pull out their defence [Kamui or Susano'o]. Minato cannot speed-blitz someone he cannot touch [Obito] and Naruto/Ay can defeat someone they cannot penetrate. Rock Lee is clearly faster than Gaara but what happened? He lost.. If speed was the ultimate factor, then Minato as well as Naruto and Ay would make up the Top 3 but they don't. Madara, Obito and Hashirama [no order] do. Why? Brute Power, Defense, Intelligence, Stamina. There are too many factors involved in a fight and you cannot pull "speed" out of the hate and say it is the ultimate factor as it's not.

True but people like Minato can't do damage against Hashirama and Madara, but they can't catch him

Exactly, there's so much more to any fight. Sonic the Hedgehog can't beat Sasuke Uchiha.

This does not make much sense. Rock Lee was faster than Gaara; but he could not defeat him. Neji was faster than Naruto, yet he got defeated. Hidan was faster than Shikamaru, yet he got defeated. Speed is not the only decisive factor, othervise gated Lee who is top 10; atleast top 15 in terms of speed can solo anyone who is slower; like Mei but we can all say that he can't defeat Her for several reasons. Fights are not that blant; there are too many deciesive factors in a fight; intel, counters, matchups, strength, scales and powers of attacks, defenses, distance and possible other factors are involved; speed is just one of them.

You all misinterpret what I'm saying. Somebody who is only a little bit faster than another character will not have a signifigant advantage.

However, any character with speed of, say, The Flash, effortlessly solos anybody in the Narutoverse.

You guys need to get this through your head: If somebody is moving fast enough, you might as well be literally standing still to them. They can cut off your head literally before you know the fight has started.

What is so hard to understand about this? The only reason people in stories don't blitz other characters is plot shield.

What if the flash is facing someone like the 3rd raikage who has near-impenetrable skin?

flash may be a hundred-times faster than him, but that doesn't mean he can do anything to harm him either.

Speed is essential, but without power to back it up as well, it's like rock, paper, scissors

Thats why Kishi nerfed Minato's FTG by making him rely on seals. He has to have a seal on someone in order to teleport to them. Thats the only reason he can't solo everyone in NB. If he could teleport anywhere like kamui, he would be invincible.

This is absolutely true. It's stupid how people think that speed isn't something big. As you said, even a normal human could solo the Narutoverse if they could move fast enough.

speed like any other factor can be op, if your body was indestructible speed wouldnt be able to do anything.

if you didnt have strong ofensive capabilities you have nothing to deliver off of that speed.

you need a good dose of all factors to win fights.

madara can use susanoo to blast away large areas, killing anything within the blast.

Speed is a very important factor but not the only one that decides.

speed is worthless if the person has fast enough reactions to counter.
speed is worthless if you cant damage the opponent.

i would like to see a person outspeed a 100km explosion going off.

power is more necessary than speed.

That's the thing, speed is so OP that he could kill him before he has a chance to put it up.

3rd Raikage is about the closest you get to impenetrable

I agree, but see above.

Speed alone is enough to solo anyone, as with enough speed you can kill them before they have a chance to use their insane strength. Somebody could have enough power to blow up the planet, but will lose to the guy who can move 30x faster than him, because he dies before he has a chance to use it.

Little to no people have the reflexes needed to counter Flash's speed.

100km explosion would be a cinch to dodge with enough speed, since the explosion would be essentially moving in slow motion.

Power loses to speed every time.

So for example if lets see Akamaru could move as fast as the flash could he solo someone who has susanoo set up already?

But doesn't he always have it on? I mean it says that his flesh was like steel and his blood like iron; it's not so much as armor but more of just his natural body.

Even Orochimaru, when he was cut in half, he healed without a scratch.

I know I've stated this before about Obito, but I'd just like to focus on speed itself.

Some people don't seem to understand that if someone is exponetially faster than you, they will beat you.

You can't fight to react to. When someone is moving so fast that you can't see them, you will lose. What happens is, if someone moves fast enough, you might as well be standing still to them.

For an example: If I could move at the speed of light, I could solo the Narutoverse with nothing but a knife. Hell, I could do it with a spoon. Hell, I could do it with my bare hands.

What happens is that Authors often have to nerf speed with plot. Because, in theory, someone fast enough is unstoppable.

Not true in the real world and not true in manga either. While some fighters can rely on speed it is NEVER enough to win you every fight.

Example: Kenichi couldn't see Tosen during their fight(not b/c of speed I know but still the same principle, not being able to see or catch enemy) Kenichi waited for one of Tosens (weak)attacks to hit him(while not hurting him) catches Tosen and destroys him.

Example2: Defense can outlast speed tiring out a fast opponent or even a strong opponent. Look at real life fighter Micky Ward. He won many bouts though attrition. He wasn't faster or stronger than a lot of his opponents but he had a better defense and tougher body allowing him to gain the advantage later in the fight. Had his opponents been stronger than his defense he would have lost.
