Those shapes I put in red circles are used to indicate impact in manga. Meaning, those show that Gai did hit Madara, at least twice.

Cannot be refuted. GG.

If only you could rap.

Of course there were moments where Gai made contact with Rikudou Madara's body while punching and kicking, but there is no proof that Gai landed blows on Madara instead of Madara blocking all of them while moving backwards to increase distance between themselves due to being overhelmed by Gai's taijutsu and being only able to react in time and block but no time for counter or to escape.

Exactly in my eyes it looks like Gai was attacking Madara while charging at him then Madara was blocking all of them while retreating/moving backwards because he was unable to counter attack Taijutsu assault made by Gai. Madara was unable to stop Gai but still was able to react in time to block, he was retreating/moving backwards because he felt unrelaxed and very uneasy so he wanted to create distance between himself and Gai but from picture you can easily conclude that Madara was in control over this situation, then he only got "?!" mark when Gai formed his hands in hirodura's typical handseal but Madara intercepted this attack splitting it in two halves.

so no, Madara was not overhelmed by speed of Gai.

Conclusion: Madara was overhelmed by Gai's taijutsu complex combat style, not his speed.

The only unrefutable fact is that Hirudora is awesome.

Yeah that's what they indicate as well. Though I think it's Madara blocking the attacks rather than him getting hit. In one hand he has the staff behind him (as if he's guarding it) and the other hand looks like it's blocking Gai's last kick before Gai bends down and uses Hirudora. I'd assume that Madara used that same hand to block the first impact.

I think this is again indicating Madara's overconfidence. Madara was pretty much defending himself with one hand and as soon as he saw Hirudora, he starts to use his staff.

Yes it could also be blocks with the hands but most likely no

yeah I didnt interpret those scenes to show madara being hit either, but I agree they do seem to indicate blows that were blocked easily. But they could also just be representing atempted blows and madara was just dodging them. At the end of the day who cares, why do you spend all day worrying about inconsequential stuff like this? Guy got owned, everybody that goes against madara is getting owned realistically he cant be stopped, but we all know he will be eventually by TNJ so who cares? Just read it and move on with your lives.

I don't really go a single day worrying about it. I like to study human behaviour and personality. This type of thing is perfect for spiking interest with the fanbase to see how they will react. That and I like to discuss and see other views than my own.
