Dean makes his way to the training field, where he would find a student who needed to be taught in a very rare skill. Sound release, a skill Dean learned less than a year ago himself. He had his bag with him, and various scrolls too. Dean's attire consisted of a dark red shirt, and black jeans and shoes. His Nekura cloak hanged over his attire, showcasing his allegiance with the clan.

"Hey, I am Dean Winchester, the Nekura. I will be teaching you Sound Release. What can you tell me about it? I need you to go all out here, its a very complex skill with many small things about it. This includes its strengths and weaknesses, its interaction with other elements and also, how you would like to use the element in battle."

Dean's face was quite serious, as he remembered how V told him that Sound release was no joke.

Noticing the seriousness of the questions being conveyed to him, Satoshi stood up straight, head high and full of confidence.

Sound release is a hidden ability that originates from the inhabitants of the Village Hidden in the Sound. The significances of it is that it manipulates sound waves to trigger vibrations within a medium (which in most cases would be the air ). In some cases(usually attacks) the waves would be visible and be seen as clear ripples . Assuming from the name, the techniques which are under this element take effect at the speed of sound , so virtually instantaneously (or at least that's how I see it). Sound is strong against all elements (especially solid elements such as water and earth )besides wind since wind is the medium of sound in most cases. The wind can be used to throw off sound waves but I assume if offensive sound is faster than wind and if I attack first the wind style user would have to be extremely fast to counter ,the specific jutsu being faster than the speed of offensive sound. Also, the heat from fire based techniques may speed up the sound due to the heating of molecules, causing them to jump around faster. And let's not forget the Sound and Water combo. Sound adds damage to water by applying for pressure and making it denser(please correct me if I'm wrong) . In combat, i plan on using sound for ita hindering properties and genjutsu properties , which allow me to parylyze and cast genjutsu at an almost unbeatable speed.

Dean listens to his student, who understood the element quite well. He only needed to add a few more details, as was his job as teacher to make sure the student understood everything.

"Not bad, not bad at all. Sound is all about vibrations, in this case though, its formed through the combination of your Wind and Lightning chakra. Sound is created by vibrations, and the air is the most basic medium through which it works. This is why Wind is such a big weakness, because it disrupts the very medium that Sound uses to make its way towards the opponent. Unfortunately, Sound isn't that fast anymore (on NB at least). It used to be, though now its a bit faster than the fastest canon element, Lightning. Though, like you said, Sound Genjutsu is instant, since once you hear it, you get caught in it. Anyway, lets talk about the strengths of Sound.

I like that you mentioned Earth, since some Sound techniques are capable of destroying Earthen structures (though only if it says so, you'll see that some techniques have an extra note that says that it can). Water on the other hand, is basically a medium for Sound as well, and enhances the effects of damage of Sound techniques, since it moves faster in liquids, and the vibrations are more powerful through the liquid medium. Going straight out physics here, Sound moves slowest through gases (ironic that its the most common method of using Sound, the air), then a bit faster through liquids, and fastest through solids. Nonetheless, with Fire, according to physics, the particles would indeed heat up and move faster, but there is no sure way to gauge how much faster it would go. The elements simply go through each other, since they are both in a non-physical state. Lightning as well. Sound is also weak to Gas based custom elements, anything which disrupts the air, the medium.

Anyway, that's the basis of it, but there's something you missed. Sound is divided into three parts, can you tell me what these three parts are and what they pertain?"

Satoshi began to elaborate on the subject.

There are three types of jutsu when it comes to the Sound element. The first one being Destructive Sound Waves. These waves have a low frequency but a high energy level which can be used offensively to physically harm targets or alter the landscape. These are the type that are visible to the naked eye but this is quite fast in speed.

The second type is classified as Hindering Sound Waves. This type of sound is used to tamper with the targets senses (hearing in most cases), balance due to vibration, internal damage from vibrations entering the bone marrow, and many more. These waves are low energy but have a high frequency . Due to it not being used as an outright physical attack but more or a supplementary in some cases, it can be performed and take effect literally once it makes a noice. I don't believe any ninja that I've heard of are faster than the speed of sound , maybe Minato is a runner up , who knows , I have yet to face him.

And lastly, there's Genjutsu Inducing Sound Waves. They are made up of high frequency, low powered waves which can serve as a medium for genjustu. They are in theory stronger than normal Genjutsu and more fast acting since it is activate once a sound has been heard. Theoretically, this Genjutsu cannot be prevented due to the high speed occurrence and some shinobi may not even know that the sound is the trigger to the Genjutsu itself.

"Very good, we got the basis of Sound now. Here is a bit more information on Sound release, from the Sound master, Wesobi."

First of all, a frequency is measured in Hertz. A frequency in theory is how many waves pass a certain point in a certain amount of time. So, basically, the lower the interval, the higher the frequency.

Now, the cool thing is, adjusting the frequency. A higher frequency is a higher pitched tone, while a lower frequency is a lower pitched tone. If you listen to music and hear the bass, the frequency is lower. You can also feel it in your body a lot more than high frequency tones, because generally those are harder to perceive in the first place. The neat thing is, that this allows us to alter the effects of sound techniques by altering the frequency. That being said, you probably see how versatile sound actually can be, and how it can create different effects. Even if you can't hear something, the sound waves are still there and can still have effects on your body

humans can only hear certain frequencies, or a range in between 2 frequencies. Generally, this is about 20 - 20 000 Hertz. Now, as you grow older, your body gets older as well, and you start to have trouble hearing high frequency tones. This is why younger people generally hear a lot better than old people. I was wondering if you speak in a lower voice, if people with hearing problems would understand you better, but I'm unsure (though it makes sense).
This does not mean that higher/lower frequencies do not effect the body! Remember that!

About the ultrasonic: Ultrasonic are simply sounds above 20 kiloHertz (20 000 Hertz) and thus above what humans can actually perceive. Other animals, like dolphins and dogs can perceive these (think, the dog whistle). These range from 20 KiloHertz into several MegaHertz. This is also what they use for sonograms (you understand what this is?) and such. Infrasound is the opposite (below 20 hertz)


Oh, one more thing I'd like to add, and this is particularly useful against Mugi's Radio Frequency/Wave CE. Low frequency sound waves generally move easier through rocks/earth than higher frequency ones. Think about your cellphone, when you move through a tunnel, the reception sucks.


Now, realize that sound can move through any medium. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Though we needs some sort of limitations, and it's reasonable to say wind is a good counter to sound if it can be seen (doujutsu) or heard, but at that point it might be too late (depending on how a technique is used and how the effects are). Earth, however, depending on the situation (and the level of understanding of the usage by the opponent) can be a devastating counter as well.
Now, look below:

-Speed of sound:
solid > liquid > gas.

Sound moves fastes of all through solids. Generally, this is because the particles and atoms in earth are more tightly packed than they are in liquids or gas. So, the closer the atoms/molecules, the faster sound moves.

- Elastic properties
There is a catch in between different solids. Sound moves faster through rigid solids (i.e. steel, iron) than other things like jelly. This is because solids that are rigid generally mean that the atoms and molecules have a much stronger force of attraction towards each other than in other solids. This is because of the fact that, once moved, they move back to their original position/form more quickly (and thus resulting in a much higher vibration speed). jelly in this case has much weaker attraction between the molecules, that's why it's so "elastic" (not to be confused with elastic properties), and much more flexible.

- Density
Next to this, there is the density. Now, more dense substances = more mass. More mass=bigger molecules. Because sound is based on kinetic energy that travels from one point to another, moving through denser objects means it has to use more energy, seeing as it has to move (vibrate) larger molecules. This however is used for substances with the same elastic properties.

To explain this take two examples with nearly the same elastic properties. Gold and aluminum (Gold = 10.8 psi; aluminum = 10 psi). While they nearly have the same elastic properties, gold is much denser, so it will travel faster through aluminum than gold.

Another funny thing is, this effect does not quite work the same in gaseous media.

Let's say it's hot hot hot in one side of the room, and cold cold cold in the other side. The logic explanation is that sound would move faster in the cold air (since it's denser), but that isn't the case!

Heat, like sound is a source of kinetic energy. More heat = More kinetic energy = more energy for the sound. This leads up to the fact that they can vibrate faster in hot air.

I will explain the technique, post the technique, then I want you to give me a full analysis on it. This analysis ranges from how you would use the technique, why its useful, its strengths and weaknesses etc. Anything you feel is relevant to mention about it, and we'll discuss any questions you have about it.

Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the user vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.

Now the first technique is simple, but incredibly effective. You will simply create your Sound chakra by combining your Wind and Lightning chakra, and then focusing it to your ears. Then, you will control your breathing, in order to control the frequency and intensity of Sound released from your mouth via breathing. This allows you to release inaudible sound waves, which bounce off objects, and gives you a full sonar like effect, allowing you to passively sense everything around you once this technique has been activated. I'd use this technique to locate enemies or maybe even explosives which are hidden via mist or if I'm under the circumstances of me being blinded. I believe the term is called echolocation, the common tool used amongst bats to find prey in the nighttime. The downside to this is that due to my advanced hearing, another sound user can take advantage and literally blow up my ear by using a sound technique.

Questions: so define drastic in this case. Like would it be like a rank higher than what it usually is? Example, ii mm using echolocation and enemy uses B rank but since I'm using echolocation its and A rank now.



Satoshi then closed his eyes and mixed his lightning and wind elemental chakra together to form sound chakra. He then would release the new chakra from his ears while simultaneously building it up within his lungs. He then would create a narrow hole between his lips to breath out of , sending waves throughout the terrain. Some waves bouncing off and returning to Satoshi's ears faster than others, leading him to deductive reasoning on where things were and how close they were. He then would breath once again. As the waves were boomeranging back and forth as he continued to breath, he would paint a visual of everything that he once saw and began to see it again through echo location. It wasn't precise , but he would be able to distinguish a person from a treeor a bug due to the number of waves which have returned. To prove if his analysis was correct, he would turn and point directly at where he believed his Senseis whiskey bottle would be . He then opened his eyes in amazement because he would find his shot in the dark pretty accurate. There the whisky bottle rested in Deans left hand.

I can see, but through audio. The waves ... They return to me. The faster they return, the closer and object is. The more waves return, the bigger the object is.

Its actually quite accurate, as it says that it can replace eye sight, if need be xD


"Very good, I like the style you used it. As for your question, it all depends on how close the Sound is to you, and how "loud". It isn't really measured by rank, and since the opponent doesn't even know that you activated this technique, but you know. Anyway, let us move on. Keep that style though.

Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.



"Now the next technique is extremely useful in battle. You will infuse your Sound chakra into an object, and make it vibrate at a low frequency, high amplitude sound. These vibrations, allow this object to bounce off a targeted object, like another kunai for example. The object infused with Sound chakra, can be sensed via vibrations, allowing you to know where the infused object is, and even what it deflects.This technique can be applied to solid objects and structures, allowing you to destroy Earthen structures, and even used it a pseudo sensing technique, by applying it to the ground. It seems to me that this jutsu has multiple uses. Let me start of with the effect it has on tools.
Satoshi rumaged through his tool pouch to retrieve a cold stainless steel kunai. He would then grip the kunais midsection with his teeth to free his hands. Satoshi wove a single handseal while releasing lightning chakra omnidirectionallu and directed it next to him, causing a feint hologram to quickly solidify and mold itself into a perfect clone of Satoshi.

Description: User creates a Shadow Clone of himself but made from lighting chakra. When the clone gets hit he will return to its previous state of pure lighting chakra. The clone has a physical substance and therefor is able to use ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques as well as he has all the normal moves the user has.
Note: Can only use lightning based techniques up to B rank.
Now you back up about 20 yards and be ready to aim that kunai at my brain!
Satoshi would command his clone who simutaneously took the kunai out of his mouth and gripping it with his right hand, mimicing Satoshis actions. As the clone would be walking the said distance, Satoshi would pour his newly found Sound chakra into his right hand and conducting it into the kunai. Once the clone had reached what he believed was 20 yards, it would sling the kunai toward Satoshi without hesitation. Satoshi quickly reacted and threw his Kunai also. Upon meeting, the clones kunai would be easily negated and pushed out of the intended course of flight. Satoshi's kunai on the other hand would prevail and continue on until the blade bit through the clones flesh. Before the clone dispersed, it would weave a single handseal, creating a clone itself but this one doesn't have a kunai through his chest. The initial clone disappeared, leaving the kunai to fall onto the surface. Satoshi would turn his back to confirm his teachers facial expression , hoping he would get a good reaction. Now with Satoshi's back exposed to the clone, it found the opportunity to retrieve the kunai thrown by Satoshi and throw it back at him. A slight smirk would stretch to Satoshi's right cheek as for he knew that the clone had intentions on throwing it as soon as he picked it up. The kunai now making its way toward Satoshi's right soulder , he would force himself upward by releasing water chakra from his feet , causing a pillar of water to erupt and propel him upward. Due to the vibrations within the kunai, Satoshi knew the exact location of it at all times so the skill kept him out of harms way.

Satoshi would say as he descended and landed on his feet then turning toward the clone. It would then nod then disperse in a burst of Lightning. I'm not done yet sensei,check this out.
Satoshi would then close his eyes and allow his sound chakra to resonate through the ground with the source of this chakra being his feet. The allowed him to accurately locate his sensei. Now knowing his Senseis exact stand point with his eyes closed, he would cause the ground to buckle into a circular shape with his Sensei being at the epicenter of it. He then opened his eyes and began to laugh outrageously XD
You don't know how good that just felt! Well you do since you're teaching me ... You know what never mind let me get to the explanation. Okay so this jutsu allows me to fill objects with sound chakra ,which are waves that can repel basic freeform to C rank attacks from various weapons. The downside is that it doesn't add any more strength to the kunai if being used for destructive purposes. I'd mostly use all of the features this jutsu offer since they all come off as useful to me in one way or another. The other features advantage is that it allows me to locate objects and structures which have my chakra implemented into and leaves me being able to cause ir to collapse within any given moment.

An awesome way to stop the opponent's oncoming techniques, though unfortunately, only in close range. You know what to do."

Satoshi would release his doton chakra into the the ground in front of his, causing a small pillar of earth to erupt from the surface of the earth.

He would then release sound chakra from his palms and clap them together, causing a shockwave of sound waves to destroy the earthen structure in front of him with ease.
This jutsu its pretty useful to me . If a ninja tried to send earth or water projectiles toward me, I would be able to easily disperse them, due to the waves literally going through them and tearing the overall structure to pieces. The only downside I see is that this can only be used at close range, but its not all that bad since its an effective defense against B rank and below techniques that can only harm me if the come in contact with my flesh(which is short range)

Description: The user gathers chakra either around their fist, arm, or leg and then charges towards their opponent. Upon utilizing an attack involving the aforementioned limb, it causes a release of sonic vibrations (of a low frequency but with a high amplitude) that act as a secondary strike, making the opponent unable to use the body part that has been hit for 1 turn. This happens because the sound vibrations damage soft tissue by resonating within the water molecules that reside within it. The effect is similar to a localized explosion upon contact that rips through the targeted area and creates a shockwave that blasts the target backwards. The skill is exceptionally useful if used against solid techniques such as those from Earth Release (or similar) which will shatter upon being hit.



"Now this one I won't expand too much on, since I want you to discover its nice secrets. Nonetheless, the technique starts off by gathering your Sound chakra and then charging it around your first, arm, or leg. You will then attack the opponent in a Taijutsu oriented move, where the hit with the charged limb will causes sonic vibrations of low frequency, high amplitude to be released with the hit connecting. This causes the opponent to not be able to use the area that was struck, like their own arm, or leg etc, for up to one turn. Tell me how this happens (that's the cool part). Oh, and it can be used to shatter Earth based techniques too, using the same principle. You know what to do."

Creating another clone, Satoshi would mentally order it to start attacking him with freeform taijutsu. Satoshi, now dodging each and every hit thrown and then the two began exchanging free form blows. The clone would throw a right jab at Satoshi which would force him to duck. As he ducked, Satoshi sufficed a substantial amount of Sound chakra into his left hand then clenching it into a fist. the sound chakra was so potent that satoshi would be able to feel the vibrations which were transparent but present, quivering around his hand. The clones immediate reaction was to try to electrocute Sastoshi with a lightning technique from his arm, but on contact the high amplitude of the strike blasted through the clones arm with a swift uppercut to the bicep. The clones arm would then be rendered useless and would be considered dead weight momentarily. The clone would disperse into the air within a matter of seconds.

This is what happens when high amplitude sound waves enter the body through the skin and reside within the blood stream of the damages area. the sound waves populate the arm with an innumerable amount of vibrations , leaving the target with a limb that is similar to limbs when they are "asleep". With their limb now numb, they wouldn't be able to use any jutsu from it. For example his struck limb feels like the looks of this photo...

Satoshi would rummage through his tool pouch to retrieve a photo he requested for prior to the training session, just in case.

Now, I'd mostly use this jutsu to immobilize close range fighters or to disable their deadliest and risky limbs (like if I was fighting someone who could bust a mountain in half with a single kick XD). The advantage of this jutsu is that it can be used at the same speed as a normal blow but it being way more effective. Another advantage is that it can crush earthen structures with ease due to the waves flowing through it and destroying the whole body of it with its high amplitude. This jutsu would also draw attention to a certain limb that I used with it, especially against a dojutsu user. If I was a dojutsu user, my immediate reaction to seeing chakra gather around a certain limb during close combat would be to amputate it and sense most dojutsu users have a faster tracking speed than me, a normal shinobi It just paints a bulls eye over that limb and could end in me possibly dying from using it. That is the only downside to this technique I believe.

The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Despite weakening as it travels, its faster than most wind or lightning techniques and can still be defended from. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.



"Now the next technique, is very very useful. Using your Sound chakra, you will gather it in your throat and inhale. You will then exhale as you either scream, yell or roar (you should totally roar). This results in you releasing forwards a low frequency, high amplitude shock wave of Sound. This shock wave is faster, and basically takes care of anything in its path (it doesn't say that it can destroy Earthen structures though). When used in a water source, or when using the water as a medium for the shock wave to travel, it gains +20 damage. You know what to do."

Satoshi cleared his throat to prepare for the serious scream he was born to do as if he had Saiyan blood coursing through his veins. He began to build up sound chakra in his throat and began to lowly growl with his mouth closed. With fist clenched and arms being flexed to their maximum size, chest out and head high, Satoshi would then exhale , releasing the sound chakra within a bellow of rage.

So are you telling me this isn't designed to tackle earth structures? This seems like it can bulldoze any element, besides wind of course ,with ease. This jutsu is useful since it can be used at any damage and all it takes is a scream. SHIT ! I can actually just scream at a close range fighter and he'd be devastated, leveled, done-zo. And the fact that it can be used in conjunction with water makes it even more unique. I assume it adds pressure to the water , forcing the water toward the enemy.. Must be the wind portion of sound being responsible for that. The downside to this jutsu is that it is only done in one breath or scream which wouldnt last very long so I wouldn't be able to really hit a moving target unless I spam it which would be chakra consuming , chakra that could be spent on other moves.

What I mean by this is that some Sound waves can be stopped by Earthen techniques (stated in the strength and weaknesses of Sound) and if a technique doesn't specifically state that it can destroy Earth, one should rather not take the chance to use it to destroy Earth, get called on it, quoted and the technique nerfed. Ya feel me?

Description: The user gathers Ototon chakra in his vocal chords. He then whistles, releasing a high frequency sound wave, creating a sound similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, similar to Ringing Madness. However, instead of causing a foe to become disoriented, it impairs his hearing, making the buzzing the only thing that he can hear, seeming as if the target has bees swimming around his ear. The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.
Note: Hearing impairment lasts 3 turns
